In this post, we will go through the Beyond Nen Tier List and rank the best Nen abilities, affinities, and techniques you can use in the game. If you are playing this Roblox experience inspired by Hunter x Hunter, choosing the right abilities is important because they can completely change how your character performs during fights.
There are several Nen abilities available, and each one offers a different fighting style. Some are focused on dealing massive damage, while others provide better defense, mobility, crowd control, or utility. You also need to consider your Nen affinity because it determines which skill trees you can access and what kind of build you can create.
I have divided everything into different tiers so you can easily find the best options for your character. Whether you are trying to get Godspeed, build around Jajanken, or find the right technique for PvP, this guide will help you decide which abilities are worth keeping and which ones you should consider replacing.
Beyond Nen Abilities Tier List – Best Affinity, Techniques
Let’s start with the main Nen Ability Tier List. This ranking covers the different Hatsu available in Beyond Nen, including their rarities, affinities, strengths, and weaknesses.
| Tier | Nen Abilities |
|---|---|
| S Tier | Godspeed, Jajanken, Big Bang Impact |
| A Tier | Arrow, Toolbox, Ripper Cyclotron, Rising Sun, Crazy Slots |
| B Tier | Paper Manipulation, Aura Corruption, Super Attack, Boost, Enchanting Music |
| C Tier | Earth Sludge, Fan Beam |
S Tier abilities are the strongest choices because they offer excellent damage, combo potential, or useful combat advantages. A Tier abilities are also very good, but they have certain limitations. B Tier abilities are more situational, while C Tier abilities are generally better as temporary options until you obtain something stronger.
S Tier – Best Nen Abilities
These are the abilities I recommend prioritizing if you want a powerful combat build. They offer strong combos, guard-breaking attacks, and excellent damage potential.
Godspeed
- Affinity: Transmutation
- Rarity: Mythical
- Tier: S
Godspeed is one of the strongest Nen abilities in Beyond Nen, especially if you enjoy chasing opponents and maintaining pressure during combat.
Its Lightning Palm is useful for opening combos, while Thunder Bolt helps you finish them. Speed of Lightning is another important ability because it lasts 30 seconds and allows you to get behind your opponent after successfully dodging.
Both Lightning Palm and Thunder Bolt can break guard, which makes Godspeed particularly useful against defensive players.
You also get Raging Whirlwind and the Whirlwind counter when using its transformation. These moves bypass block and cannot be parried, giving you another way to punish opponents.
I would definitely keep Godspeed if you manage to roll it. Just remember that its transformation has a cooldown, so save it for important fights rather than activating it immediately.
Jajanken
- Affinity: Enhancement
- Rarity: Mythical
- Tier: S
Jajanken is another excellent ability that focuses on powerful attacks and combo damage. It is a great option if you prefer dealing massive damage during close-range fights.
Its Rock and Paper attacks are useful for finishing combos, while Scissors helps extend them. The Scissors attack is particularly important because it breaks guard and allows you to continue your combo before finishing with Rock.
Jajanken also has Pure Rage, which gives you access to a stronger set of moves for 30 seconds.
The main thing to remember is its five-minute cooldown. Pure Rage is extremely powerful, but you should use it at the right moment instead of activating it as soon as it becomes available.
If you enjoy aggressive combat and want a strong burst-damage ability, Jajanken is one of my top recommendations.
Big Bang Impact
- Affinity: Enhancement
- Rarity: Legendary
- Tier: S
Big Bang Impact is a powerful Enhancement ability that provides consistent damage without requiring a transformation.
Its moves include Impact Train, Ground Shatter, Skull Breaker, and Fist of Destruction. You can use these attacks to start combos, extend them, or finish opponents.
One of its biggest advantages is its guard-breaking potential. Every move threatens a guard break, while Skull Breaker cannot be parried.
I particularly like Big Bang Impact because you don’t have to wait for a transformation to access its full combo kit. This makes it a reliable choice for repeated fights and farming.
If you want consistent damage without depending on a special mode, Big Bang Impact is definitely worth keeping.
A Tier – Very Good Nen Abilities
A Tier abilities are strong alternatives to the S Tier options. They offer useful combat mechanics and can perform very well when paired with the right build.
Arrow
- Affinity: Emission
- Rarity: Legendary
- Tier: A
Arrow is an excellent choice if you prefer fighting from a distance. It offers multiple ranged attacks that allow you to pressure opponents without constantly getting close to them.
Its abilities include Ice Arrow, Poison Arrow, Lightning Arrow, Flame Arrow, and Healing Arrow.
Ice Arrow is useful for starting combos, while Poison Arrow helps extend them. Lightning Arrow and Flame Arrow are particularly useful because they can break guard.
Healing Arrow is another advantage, as it gradually restores 35 HP over time. This can help during longer fights, although you should use it when you have enough space rather than relying on it during an active combo.
Overall, Arrow is a strong ranged ability and one I would recommend if you enjoy keeping your distance from opponents.
Toolbox
- Affinity: Conjuration
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Tier: A
Toolbox might have an Uncommon rarity, but don’t underestimate it. It offers a surprisingly useful combination of attacks that can keep opponents under pressure.
Its moves include Wrench Assault, Ruthless Saw, Strong Hammer, and Screw Thrust.
Wrench Assault is particularly useful because it breaks guard and cannot be parried. Strong Hammer can start or extend combos, while Wrench Assault and Ruthless Saw help you maintain pressure.
Screw Thrust is useful for finishing your attack sequence.
I would keep Toolbox if you want a consistent combat ability without having to depend on complicated mechanics. Its Uncommon rarity doesn’t stop it from being a strong choice.
Ripper Cyclotron
- Affinity: Enhancement
- Rarity: Rare
- Tier: A
Ripper Cyclotron is an interesting Enhancement ability that focuses on charged attacks and powerful damage.
Its Ripper Strike and Ripper Demolition can both be charged to increase their damage. This means you need to find the right opportunity before using them.
Ripper Pummeling is another important move because it breaks guard and helps extend combos.
The main disadvantage is that Ripper Strike and Ripper Demolition can be blocked or parried. You should avoid charging them when your opponent has enough time to react.
Ripper Pummeling cannot be parried, but it has a 32-second cooldown. Despite these limitations, Ripper Cyclotron is a very good option if you understand how to use its attacks.
Rising Sun
- Affinity: Transmutation
- Rarity: Extraordinary
- Tier: A
Rising Sun is a powerful ability that becomes more dangerous as your health decreases.
Its Pain Packer ability unlocks the rest of the moveset when your health reaches 50%. Your damage also increases as your health drops, allowing you to deal more damage when you are close to defeat.
Sun Judgement is particularly powerful and can help you turn around a difficult fight.
The biggest disadvantage is that you need to reach half health before unlocking the full kit. This makes Rising Sun less consistent for regular farming.
However, if you enjoy high-risk combat and comeback potential, Rising Sun is definitely worth considering.
Crazy Slots
- Affinity: Conjuration
- Rarity: Extraordinary
- Tier: A
Crazy Slots is a unique ability because it gives you different weapons through a roulette system. You can receive a scythe, gun, or wand, and each one comes with its own moves.
The wand provides healing, while the gun offers a charged shot. The scythe gives you another combat option, and Grim Reaper is shared across all three weapon variations.
Crash Fairy is useful for starting or extending combos, while the gun’s charged shot can help you finish an attack sequence.
The main drawback is that you cannot completely control which weapon you receive. You need to adjust your strategy depending on the result of the roulette.
Crazy Slots is still a very good ability, especially if you enjoy experimenting with different weapons and combat styles.
B Tier – Decent Nen Abilities
These abilities can still be useful, but they generally require more specific builds or situations to perform well. I would consider them temporary options unless you particularly enjoy their mechanics.
Paper Manipulation
- Affinity: Manipulation
- Rarity: Legendary
- Tier: B
Paper Manipulation offers a decent combination of attacks that can be used to start, extend, and finish combos.
Its moves include Paper Lance, Paper Storm, and Paper Spike. Paper Lance can open or finish combos, while Paper Storm helps extend your attacks. Paper Spike is another useful option because it can break guard.
The biggest disadvantage is its relatively modest damage compared to stronger abilities. Additionally, all four moves can be parried.
You can still get good results with Paper Manipulation if you mix up your attack timing instead of repeating the same combo.
Aura Corruption
- Affinity: Specialization
- Rarity: Unknown
- Tier: B
Aura Corruption is a more unusual ability that focuses on damaging opponents while also providing some healing.
Its moves include Parasite Mask, Aura Rot, and Black Funeral. Parasite Mask can start combos, while Aura Rot and Black Funeral can break guard.
Aura Rot is particularly useful because it also restores 30 HP, giving you an advantage during longer fights.
However, the healing ability has a 50-second cooldown, and the overall moveset doesn’t provide the same consistent pressure as the higher-ranked abilities.
I would keep Aura Corruption if you prefer a more defensive playstyle, but there are stronger alternatives available.
Super Attack
- Affinity: Enhancement
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Tier: B
Super Attack is a straightforward Enhancement ability that offers three different attacks.
Gut Punch is useful for starting or extending combos, while Super Punch and Super Smash are mainly used to finish your attack sequence.
All three moves can break guard, which makes the ability useful when dealing with defensive opponents.
Another advantage is its relatively short cooldowns, allowing you to keep using your attacks without waiting too long.
The main weakness is its lower damage compared to stronger Enhancement abilities. It is a decent option for beginners, but I would replace it once you obtain a stronger Hatsu.
Boost
- Affinity: Specialization
- Rarity: Rare
- Tier: B
Boost is different from most Nen abilities because it doesn’t directly deal damage. Instead, it increases the damage of your basic attacks, Nen moves, and weapon skills.
This makes it a useful option for builds that already have reliable damage sources.
If you are using powerful weapons or have learned strong skills, Boost can help increase your overall damage output.
However, it doesn’t provide its own combo starter, extender, or guard-breaking move. You need to build the rest of your character around it.
I would recommend Boost if you already have a good combat setup, but it isn’t my first choice for a character that still needs a complete moveset.
Enchanting Music
- Affinity: Manipulation
- Rarity: Rare
- Tier: B
Enchanting Music is a control-focused ability that can be useful during PvP fights.
Its Sleep ability stuns opponents for 3.5 seconds, giving you an opportunity to follow up with another attack. Rhythm Shock helps extend combos, while Rhythm Burst is used to finish them.
The biggest advantage is the stun effect. If you successfully land Sleep, you can create an opening for a stronger attack from the rest of your build.
However, Sleep can be blocked or parried, and its follow-up damage is relatively light.
I would keep Enchanting Music if you enjoy controlling opponents and setting up combos, but its overall damage potential is limited.
C Tier – Mid Nen Abilities
C Tier abilities are not completely useless, but they offer fewer advantages compared to the higher-ranked options. They can help you get started while you work toward a stronger ability.
Earth Sludge
- Affinity: Transmutation
- Rarity: Common
- Tier: C
Earth Sludge is a basic Transmutation ability that offers a combination of stat buffs and offensive moves.
Its Earth Fists ability increases Weapon and Strength stats by 10% for one minute. This can be useful if most of your damage comes from weapons or close-range attacks.
Sludge Field helps extend combos, while Sludge Splash can break guard.
The main problem is that its offensive abilities don’t provide much burst damage. Although the stat buff can be useful, the overall moveset is weaker than the higher-tier options.
I would use Earth Sludge while progressing through the game, but replace it once you obtain a more complete ability.
Fan Beam
- Affinity: Emission
- Rarity: Common
- Tier: C
Fan Beam is another basic ability that can be useful when you are just starting out.
It has two main moves: Fan Blast and Glory of Heaven. Fan Blast can break guard, while Glory of Heaven breaks posture and stuns opponents to extend a combo.
The stun effect can create an opening for another attack from your weapon or skill tree.
However, Fan Beam only has two moves and offers limited damage compared to stronger Emission abilities.
If you want a ranged build, I would recommend aiming for Arrow instead because it provides a much fuller set of attacks.
Beyond Nen Affinity Tier List
Your Nen affinity is just as important as your Hatsu because it determines which skill trees you can access and what kind of character build you can create.
Some affinities are better for close-range combat, while others focus on ranged attacks, utility, or crowd control.
Here is the ranking of all six Nen affinities in Beyond Nen.
| Tier | Affinities |
|---|---|
| S Tier | Enhancement, Transmutation |
| A Tier | Emission, Conjuration |
| B Tier | Manipulation, Specialization |
S Tier Affinities
Enhancement
- Role: Melee
- Tier: S
Enhancement is one of the best affinities for players who enjoy close-range combat. It provides a defense buff and gives you full access to the Enhancement skill tree.
You can also learn up to eight skills each from Transmutation and Emission.
One of its useful skills is Chaos Fist, which can break guard and extend combos. This gives you a solid foundation for fighting even before obtaining a powerful Hatsu.
Enhancement also gives you access to two excellent abilities: Jajanken and Big Bang Impact.
Jajanken is a great choice if you want powerful burst damage, while Big Bang Impact provides consistent pressure without requiring a transformation.
I would recommend Enhancement to most players because it offers a strong combination of combat potential and defensive benefits.
Transmutation
- Role: Burst
- Tier: S
Transmutation is another excellent affinity, especially if you want to deal high damage and build around powerful combos.
It provides a power buff and gives you full access to the Transmutation skill tree. You can also learn up to eight skills each from Enhancement and Conjuration.
Godspeed is one of the biggest reasons to choose this affinity. Its speed and combat abilities make it an excellent option for chasing opponents.
You also have access to Mud Stomp, which can break guard while you work toward obtaining Godspeed.
The additional access to Enhancement and Conjuration skills gives you plenty of room to experiment with melee attacks and utility.
If you want a powerful offensive build, Transmutation is definitely worth choosing.
A Tier Affinities
Emission
- Role: Range
- Tier: A
Emission is a good affinity for players who prefer ranged combat and keeping their distance from opponents.
It provides a stamina buff, full access to the Emission skill tree, and up to eight skills each from Enhancement and Manipulation.
Nen Blast and Powerball are particularly useful because both can break guard and cannot be parried.
You also get Blast Jump, which helps you create distance when an opponent gets too close.
Arrow is the main Hatsu I would recommend for this affinity because it offers several useful ranged attacks and a healing ability.
Fan Beam is another option, although it isn’t as strong overall.
Emission is a great choice if you want to focus on ranged pressure rather than constantly fighting at close range.
Conjuration
- Role: Utility
- Tier: A
Conjuration is a versatile affinity that focuses on utility and provides useful options for different combat situations.
It gives you a speed buff, full access to the Conjuration skill tree, and up to eight Transmutation skills.
One of its useful abilities is Rope Binding, which can go through block and cannot be parried. This makes it a good answer against players who spend too much time defending.
Toolbox is a reliable Hatsu option if you want consistent attacks, while Crazy Slots offers more variety through its different weapon combinations.
I would recommend Conjuration if you prefer having different tools available instead of focusing entirely on damage.
B Tier Affinities
Manipulation
- Role: Crowd Control
- Tier: B
Manipulation is focused on controlling opponents and creating opportunities to attack.
It provides full access to the Manipulation skill tree and up to eight Emission skills.
Mind Scramble is particularly useful because it can stun opponents and extend combos. Maddening Gaze is another interesting ability because it can apply fear through block.
These skills work well when combined with reliable damage abilities from the Emission skill tree.
Paper Manipulation and Enchanting Music are also associated with this affinity, making it a reasonable option for players who enjoy crowd control.
However, if your main priority is raw damage, I would choose Enhancement or Transmutation instead.
Specialization
- Role: Hybrid Builds
- Tier: B
Specialization is a unique affinity because it allows you to learn skills from all six Nen trees.
You can learn up to eight skills each from Manipulation and Conjuration, giving you plenty of flexibility when building your character.
The biggest disadvantage is that Specialization doesn’t provide an innate stat buff.
You need to make good use of its extra skill access to get the most out of this affinity.
Boost and Aura Corruption are its associated Hatsu options, but they are harder to build around compared to the strongest abilities.
I would recommend Specialization if you already have a particular combination of skills in mind. Otherwise, Enhancement and Transmutation are safer choices.
Beyond Nen Technique Tier List
Besides Nen abilities and affinities, you also need to choose the right Nen techniques for your character.
These techniques provide different stat bonuses and special effects that can improve your performance during combat.
Here is the ranking of all available techniques.
| Tier | Techniques |
|---|---|
| S Tier | Ten, Ryu |
| A Tier | Shu, Ken |
| B Tier | Ko, Zetsu, Gyo |
S Tier Techniques
Ten
- Role: All-Rounder
- Tier: S
Ten is one of the best techniques for general combat because it provides a balanced combination of offensive and defensive bonuses.
It increases your stats by:
- Strength: +15%
- Stamina: +16%
- Durability: +10%
The main advantage of Ten is that you don’t have to sacrifice one stat to improve another.
You get additional Strength for dealing damage, more Stamina for fighting, and extra Durability to survive attacks.
I would recommend Ten if you don’t know what kind of opponents you will face. It is a reliable choice for general gameplay because it helps you attack and defend without major disadvantages.
Ryu
- Role: Stance Switch
- Tier: S
Ryu is another excellent technique because it allows you to switch between offensive and defensive stances.
It gives you two different stat setups depending on how you want to approach a fight.
Strength Stance:
- Strength: +35%
- Stamina: +22%
- Durability: -15%
Defense Stance:
- Durability: +35%
- Strength: -15%
- Stamina: -22%
Strength Stance is useful when you want to deal more damage and control the pace of a fight.
Defense Stance is better when you need to survive heavy pressure from your opponent.
I would recommend Ryu if you understand when to switch between attacking and defending. However, Ten is a safer option if you prefer having balanced stats throughout the fight.
A Tier Techniques
Shu
- Role: Weapon Damage
- Tier: A
Shu is an excellent technique if your build focuses heavily on weapons.
It provides a 40% weapon damage increase, making it a strong choice for players who rely on weapon attacks rather than Nen abilities.
If most of your damage comes from weapon combos, this bonus can make a noticeable difference.
However, Shu is less useful if your character mainly depends on Hatsu abilities or other Nen skills.
I would recommend Shu for weapon-focused builds, while Ten is a better all-round option.
Ken
- Role: Defense
- Tier: A
Ken is a defensive technique that helps you survive longer during fights.
It provides the following stat bonuses:
- Strength: +5%
- Stamina: +11%
- Durability: +20%
Its biggest advantage is the additional Durability, which is twice the bonus provided by Ten.
You still receive some Strength and Stamina, so you don’t have to sacrifice your entire offensive setup to become more defensive.
I would recommend Ken if you frequently lose close-range fights or struggle to survive against aggressive players.
B Tier Techniques
Ko
- Role: Burst
- Tier: B
Ko is a high-risk technique that provides a massive Strength increase at the cost of your defense.
Its stat changes are:
- Strength: +50%
- Durability: -80%
The damage increase is impressive, but losing 80% Durability makes this technique extremely risky.
I would only recommend using Ko when you are confident that your attack will land. If you miss or your opponent successfully counters you, the reduced Durability can put you in serious trouble.
For regular combat, Ryu’s Strength Stance is a safer alternative because it still provides a strong offensive bonus without sacrificing nearly as much defense.
Zetsu
- Role: Stealth
- Tier: B
Zetsu is a stealth technique that makes you invisible to players who aren’t using Gyo.
This can be useful when you want to sneak past another player, reposition yourself, or approach an opponent without being noticed.
However, Zetsu isn’t completely reliable against players who understand how to counter it.
Gyo can reveal players using Zetsu, and En can still track you.
I would use Zetsu when you want to control how an encounter begins, but for an actual fight, Ten or Ken will usually provide more consistent benefits.
Gyo
- Role: Detection
- Tier: B
Gyo is the technique you want when dealing with players who use Zetsu.
It allows you to reveal invisible players and also helps you see items covered in Nen.
This makes it useful both during combat and when exploring the game.
However, its benefits are more situational compared to techniques that provide direct stat bonuses.
I would recommend using Gyo when you specifically need to detect hidden players or find Nen-covered items. For ordinary fights, a technique like Ten will generally be more useful.
