The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Ocarina of Time

Explore locations for all bottles in the Ocarina of Time Remake, a key resource for healing and quests.

Bottles are essential in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Not only do they hold healing items and bugs for collecting Gold Skulltula tokens, but they can also be used as a makeshift weapon against bosses like Ganondorf. While there are several useful uses for bottles, keep in mind that they’re a limited resource, with only a few available in the game, each connected to a specific side quest or mini-game. If you’re trying to track down every bottle but are stuck on a few, you’ll find all the info you need on where to find them here.

The remake introduced an extra bottle, bringing the total to five. All the locations will feel familiar, but it’s worth brushing up on where each one can be found to avoid any hiccups in your quest.

Be sure to explore early and often, especially in the Potion Shop, where a new bottle awaits. Let’s jump into the specific locations so you can grab every bottle efficiently!

All Bottle Locations in the Ocarina of Time Remake

The first bottle you’re likely to find in the Remake is actually one that wasn’t in any previous version of the game! If you enter the Hyrule Castle Town Potion Shop as Child Link, you’ll find that the owner is panicking due to a runaway bug in his store!

Potion Shop Bottle

Agree to play Talon’s mini-game, and he’ll throw three super cuccos around the room. You’ll have one minute to find all three. When the mini-game starts, tilt your camera to the left of Talon, as that can help you spot where some cuccos land right after he throws them.

If you successfully pick up all three super cuccos within the time limit, Talon will reward you with a bottle filled with Lon Lon Milk.

Lon Lon Ranch Bottle

The next bottle is the only one that’s required to progress the main story. After visiting Zora’s Domain for the first time, where you earn the Silver Scale, dive into the small passageway under the water. You’ll pop up at Lake Hylia.

While at Lake Hylia, dive down near the entrance to Zora’s Domain. You’ll find an empty bottle sitting on the lakebed with a letter from Princess Ruto. You’ll need to deliver this letter to King Zora to progress to the next dungeon.

In the original Ocarina of Time, you had to bring the Poe Collector all 10 Big Poes hidden around Hyrule Field to get his bottle. The remake streamlines this—now you only need five Big Poes to earn that bottle. If you want help locating those Big Poes, an in-depth guide on their locations is available.

Kakariko Village Bottle

To kick things off, make your way to Kakariko Village as Child Link. Once you stroll in, take a quick right and you’ll notice a lovely red-headed lady standing by a chicken coop. Strike up a conversation with her and she’ll share her little dilemma about her runaway cuccos. She’s in quite a bind and offers you an enticing reward for helping her find every last one of them. You’ll want to do this task, as it’s your ticket to snagging the next bottle on your journey!

Your cucco-finding mission has you on the hunt for seven mischievous cuccos scattered all around Kakariko Village. It’s all about gathering them up and then tossing them into the cozy fenced area next to our red-haired friend. If you’re feeling a bit lost, don’t worry! We’ve got a detailed guide that outlines the whereabouts of each of the seven cuccos so you can complete this quest in no time. Once you’ve successfully corralled all of them, she’ll reward you with yet another shiny bottle to add to your collection.

Princess Ruto’s Bottle

Next up, we’ve got the only bottle you absolutely need to grab as part of the main storyline. After your visit to Zora’s Domain – and don’t forget to earn that Silver Scale from the helpful Zora at the waterfall – it’s time to make a splash! Dive into the small underwater passage located right under Zora’s Domain and before you know it, you’ll pop up at Lake Hylia, ready for your next adventure!

Now that you’re at Lake Hylia, it’s time to dive into the water right near the entrance to Zora’s Domain. Just below the surface, where your diving skills come into play, you’ll find an empty bottle resting on the lakebed, accompanied by a message from Princess Ruto. This letter holds significance, so be sure to take it straight to King Zora if you want to advance to the next dungeon in your quest!

Poe Collector Bottle

The fifth and final bottle on your journey is unique because you’ll need to become Adult Link before you can get your hands on it. Once you’re all grown up, head over to Hyrule Castle Town – there’s a Poe Collector waiting for you there. Chat with this fellow and he’ll tell you about the fun of collecting Poes in bottles. If you’re able to deliver enough Big Poes to him, he promises to arm you with something special that simplifies your collecting endeavors.

In the original Ocarina of Time, you’d be tasked with bringing the Poe Collector 10 Big Poes, which were cleverly hidden throughout Hyrule Field in order to get that coveted bottle. However, the remake makes things a bit more manageable. Now, all you need is to gather five Big Poes to claim your prize bottle. If you’re looking for a bit of guidance on where to hunt down those elusive Big Poes, we’ve crafted a thorough guide just for you!
