Kingshot Viking Vengeance Guide – Scoring Higher Tips

This is only an additional trick for scoring higher in the Kingshot Viking Vengeance event, it is not a full guide. You should already be familiar with the basics before trying to do this advanced strategy.

So usually how you play vikings is sending all your infantry and cavalry to your teammates and leaving archers at home right? We do it this way once you have too many troops and you can’t fully empty your city, as long as infantry and cavalry stays alive the archers will not steal any points.

But what if we can turn those “useless” archers into more points? Well here comes the trick!

Again the most important thing is to have your city emptied from infantry and cavalry.

Assign some players that will have ONLY ARCHERS in their city during the viking attacks, they will also empty the city as much as they can but primarily removing infantry and cavalry as usual.

Since the city has only archers, these archers are the main target and they give you points.

Optimally you will still mostly reinforce with infantry and cavalry while having 1-2 archer marches. Otherwise it can get a bit too complicated with emptying your city.

How useful this strategy is varies a bit depending on your troop amount, troop composition, rally size etc, but it’s useful up until you can fill ALL your march queues fully with infantry (and cavalry).

Now the most important is good communication and coordination, DO NOT do this strategy on your own and without clearly communicating through alliance chat/alliance notice.

One person sending the wrong troop composition can completely mess up the points of others so you need to keep track of who is reinforcing you and if you are the player accepting only archers, remove all other troop types.

The main thing to understand vikings is how they battle:

First they fight your infantry while your infantry retaliates, then cavalry and finally archers, If the vikings never breach the infantry neither archers nor cavalry will be doing damage.

In case this still doesn’t make any sense let’s take a look at some battle reports.
Firstly we have the archer only city (the city owner did have some kills because they couldn’t get rid of all the archers but still the reinforcers got most of the points)
As you can see the city didn’t burn even on wave 19 which is the final wave that the vikings hit cities.

Then we have an example where vikings breach infantry and reach cavalry.

And lastly we have an example where vikings don’t breach infantry at all and even though there was cavalry in the city they got 0 kills.

This makes it seem as if it should be possible to reinforce players with infantry only and with enough reinforcements/general city strength neither cavalry nor archers will steal points.(it’s impossible to calculate the exact numbers as there are too many variables).
Some people may reach this point earlier or later based on server progression and alliance strength.

If you have a regular squad you always exchange with during vikings follow the battle reports and check if the vikings are breaching infantry, if they consistently can’t breach infantry and reach cavalry you can try experiment and do infantry only and archer only cities for more alliance points.

Infantry only reinforce becomes the most relevant when you have so many troops that you can’t even empty your infantry and cavalry anymore with all 6 marches.
