You have officially secured the Cable Station Bell (A) after taking down Deputy Roberts, which means it is time to shift your focus to the Union Apartments. This area is tucked away in Downtown and serves as the next critical destination for your investigation. You will need to keep your wits about you because the building is far more complex than it appears.
The biggest mistake I made here was overlooking the importance of the Double Barrel Shotgun before entering, which made the subsequent combat encounters significantly tougher than they needed to be. Managing your inventory for key items like Laundry Tokens is essential, as missing one will force you to backtrack through some very hostile hallways. You will quickly realize that the apartment layout hides its secrets behind locks that require careful observation of the environment.
Before you dive in, make sure you have the Crowbar and Flashlight fully accounted for, as these are mandatory for accessing side rooms. Check your supplies and ensure you have enough health items, because once you cross the threshold into the building, the pace of the game ramps up noticeably. You are going to want every advantage possible while you track down the next bell.

Returning to Downtown
Exit the Sheriff’s Station and cross the bridge back into Downtown Silver Pines. Watch for a phone call from Mr. Jackman when you near the Riverside welcome sign.
Now that you possess the Crowbar and Flashlight, several previously blocked areas are now open for investigation.
Obtaining the Double Barrel Shotgun
Head to the rear entrance of Sport Smart Sporting Goods Store, situated near the Cafe back exit where you previously found the Baseball Bat.
Use your Flashlight to navigate the dark interior and locate the wall switch to restore power. The gate to the Ammo Zone is locked and requires a specific code.
Proceed up the stairs through the doorway located near the gate.
On the second floor, you will see a door requiring a diamond-shaped crank, which you cannot open yet. Take the southern door instead.
Look for the framed baseball jersey lying on the floor and inspect it closely.
The jersey displays the number 23 and identifies the player as being from the class of 67.
Return downstairs and input the code 2367 to open the Ammo Zone gate. After dispatching the two enemies waiting inside, grab the Double Barrel Shotgun from the display case.
Reaching the Union Apartments Building
Exit the store and travel northeast to reach the Movie Theater.
Note
If you purchase the Projector Room Key from the Vending Machine inside, you can claim the Nail Gun from the Projector Room.
Pass the Vending Machine and head through the door on the left.
Proceed right up the aisle and use the door on your left to exit the Movie Theater through the rear.
Continue moving left until you find the Union Apartments to the north. Speak to the person standing outside, whom you likely remember from the bridge when you first arrived in Downtown.
Open the shortcut door to the left to reconnect to the Downtown area, then head north to enter the Union Apartments Grounds.
Accessing the Apartment Building
Once inside the grounds, head to the far left. Break the wind chime in the boarded-up room to collect a Memento Vessel Shard.
Exit that room and head east to enter the main building through the front door.
Pick up the Fire Escape Plan (Union Apartment Map) from the wall and grab the Utility Room Key from the nearby Keybox.
Inspect the Intercom. You know Room 4B belongs to Alice Baker from Eddie Velvet’s Interrogation Tape, but the line is busy due to an active transmission in the Utility Room.
Go back outside and head down the steps to the right. Look through the Basement window to spot a Laundry Machine.
Climb the nearby dumpster to reach the chest on the scaffolding, which contains Duct Tape.
Fight your way east to the Utility Room entrance, looting the car trunk for extra Money on the way. Use your Utility Room Key to enter.
Shoot the gas canister immediately to neutralize the enemies inside. Proceed east and head down the stairs.
Move through the flooded Basement passage. When you see the creature behind the grill, it will vanish; approach the Intercom on the wall to cut the broadcast.
Return to the main entrance and use the Intercom to call Room 4B. After a mysterious conversation, the main door will finally be accessible.
Exploring The Union Apartments Building
1st Floor
Enter the 1st Floor Hallway and move west to find Supervisor’s Room 1A.
Grab the Laundry Token from the table and examine the notice board.
The clippings on the board detail the following incidents involving residents:
- Artist dies in fall
- Obituary of Albie
- Writer Suicide
- The Union Stalker
Note the cryptic wall scribbling: It Came For The Rest.
The door to the right is locked and requires a specific sequence of apartment numbers.
In the 1st Floor Hallway, head east and look through the small window slit to see a button marked with a 4.
Call the elevator and hop inside.
The 4-Button is missing from the panel, matching the one you spotted in the locked Supervisor Room.
Exit the elevator and go through the eastern gate. Note that Room 1B is boarded up.
Pass the Stairwell entrance and enter Room 1C.
Find the Gallery Pamphlet from 1C Note on the table, which belonged to Drew Laker, the artist mentioned on the notice board.
Try to read the writing on the bedroom wall, though the thick paint makes it illegible.
Check the medicine cabinet in the bathroom for a Healing Tonic before returning to the hallway.
Head to the end of the hallway on the right to find a Safe Room where you can save your progress and observe the Mural on the wall.
Basement
Go to the Stairwell near Room 1C and head down into the Basement.
You will see a padlocked chest to your right and a path to the Storage Room; prioritize exploring the Storage Room first.
There are two storage units. The left one is locked, so enter the second unit on the right.
Search the duffle bag for a second Laundry Token and break the boards to reveal a hidden area containing Pale Lichen and a First Aid Kit.
Return to the main basement area and enter the Laundry Room, where you will find the Washing Machine.
You need four Laundry Tokens to open the machine and retrieve the key inside. You have collected two so far.
Go to the northern passage of the Laundry Room and search the duffle bag on the far left to get your third Laundry Token.
While you currently lack the tool to break the cracked wall on the right, make sure to pick up the Waterlogged Poetry Book Note nearby.
Leave the Basement and head up the Stairwell to reach the 2nd Floor.
