Silver Pines Cable Car Station Guide – Downtown Access

Learn how to traverse the Downtown district, unlock the Baseball Bat, and finally gain entry to the Cable Car Station in Silver Pines.

Getting to the Cable Car Station is your main goal in the Downtown district, but those boarded-up paths and locked gates make it a real headache. You will need to track down specific items to bypass these obstacles, so don’t expect to just walk straight there from the Ferry.

I personally wasted way too much time wandering around the Riverside gate before realizing I needed to explore the cafe and theater first. It is easy to miss the Baseball Bat, which becomes vital once the combat encounters start getting tighter in the back alleys.

Before you dive in, make sure you have your Revolver ready and keep a close eye on your Stamina bar, as the crossing near the tunnel is tighter than it looks. You should also make it a habit to check every single Storage Container you pass, as resources are surprisingly scarce in this part of town.

Exploring Downtown Silver Pines

After you hop off the Ferry, head north up the road to save your progress at the Phone Booth. Step into the building on your right to gather your bearings.

Inside this small room, you will find a Storage Container tucked away and some Money sitting right in the cash register. It is worth grabbing these early to build up your funds for later vending machine purchases.

Once you are back on the main Ferry Dock street, look for a Torn Poster of a missing person. It helps set the tone for the area before you push further east.

Keep moving east, as the northern exit ahead is your gateway to Loomis Street. This is where the city really starts to show its age.

Before turning north, check the docks on your right side for a hanging wind chime. Shooting this down drops a Memento Vessel Shard, and you need to find four of these to earn a new Memento Slot.

Follow Loomis Street eastward until you hit the bridge where a lone character is standing. It is worth stopping to chat with them for a bit of flavor.

Make your way toward the Friendly Paws Veterinary Clinic and head inside. You will find a handy Vending Machine and a cash register filled with Money.

A cart will roll toward you as you move right, containing a Red Bird Statuette. Pick that up, then speak to the person trapped inside the nearby jail cell.

Head back to Loomis Street and travel north to Market Street, where you will find The Quiet Hour Cafe. Duck inside to get out of the elements.

Inside the cafe, you will find a Coffee Pot, another Storage Container, and a Phone Booth for saving. Make sure to hit that save before exploring the left side of the room.

Examine the bird cage sitting here, as it features three empty slots. It is clearly missing some components you need to track down.

Go ahead and slot the Red Bird Statuette into the red position. You have to hunt down the other two pieces before you can claim the Memento held within.

Walk through the door near the cage into the cafe’s back room. You will see a Lockbox on the left and two fridges containing Pastries, but note that the right-hand door is currently locked.

Obtaining the Baseball Bat

Step out of the cafe and head right until you reach the Sporting Goods Store. Take a moment to peek through the front window.

Look for the four suits displayed inside, which are Spade, Heart, Club, and Diamond. Memorize this sequence because you will need it shortly.

Walk up the road to find the locked Riverside gate, then proceed north when you reach the end. We cannot open that gate just yet, so keep moving.

The Movie Theater will appear on your right side. It is hard to miss.

Clear out the enemies near the entrance and head inside to grab the Yellow Bird Statuette sitting on the counter. The Projector Room door is locked, and the path to the left is far too dark to navigate safely.

You can buy the Projector Room Key from the Vending Machine inside. While the Nail Gun in that room is useful, picking it up is entirely optional.

Exit the theater and travel west. Before you hit the padlocked shutter, take the southern exit to find the back alley of the cafe.

Approach the gate to the east and input the suit sequence you saw at the Sporting Goods Store. Once it unlocks, claim your Baseball Bat; just ignore the Sporting Goods Store entrance for now since it is too dark inside.

Use the door to head back into The Quiet Hours Cafe, take out the enemy there, and unlock the shortcut. You will find the Mended Tooth Memento waiting for you inside.

Return to the padlocked shutter and use your Revolver to shoot the lock. Strike the wind chime inside to collect your second Memento Vessel Shard.

Navigate toward the stairs leading north and climb up. You should save your progress at the nearby Phone Booth before proceeding.

You will see a car burning and blocking the western path. Don’t worry about the car, just check the hanging pouch nearby for some extra Money.

Reaching the Cable Car Station

Head back to the previous area, go through the gate to the west, and look for a ladder. Climb down to reach the lower level.

Jump to the left and swim as fast as you can. You have just enough Stamina to reach the ledge on the other side if you keep moving.

Inside the tunnel, you will encounter two enemies. You can easily sneak past these foes if you stay quiet and focused on the exit located just past the first one.

Take a look at the Pet Clinic Poster and inspect the jacket you find there. Once you are finished, exit the tunnel through the southern door.

Back on the street, head east past the insect creature. Look for steps leading north, but make a quick detour right and down first.

Open that door to create a very convenient shortcut back to the The Quiet Hours Cafe alley.

Go back to the northern steps to arrive at Silver Road. You will see a Phone Booth for saving and the Cable Car Station right next to it.

Before entering the station, head west to find an RV near the Liquor Store. This is worth a quick detour.

Head east until you run into the Digging Man. His dialogue is cryptic, but it is worth a quick listen.

Continue east and keep an eye out for a ladder padlocked above you. Shoot it down, then climb up.

Look inside the bird’s nest at the top to find the Silver Bird Statuette. You are nearly done with the cafe puzzle.

Return to the Phone Booth and head into the station. Search the bag past the railing to grab the Quiet Hour Key, which opens that mysterious Lockbox back at the cafe.

Enter the station door whenever you feel prepared for what’s next.

The Cable Car Bells Quest

Once inside, grab the Broken Plaque from the bench next to the Storage Container. Make your way to the upper floor via the stairs.

The ticket counter is empty, so keep heading right along the upper level.

You will find a broken clock and some bells hanging beneath it. Stop here and examine them closely.

Collect the Riverside Bridge Key from the A slot and fix the plaque by inserting your Broken Plaque. Don’t worry about the bells not ringing yet; they aren’t fully functional.

Head east through the door to find another wind chime. Shoot it down to pick up your third Mementor Vessel Shard.

Retrace your steps to the ticket counter. You will notice the lights are now on; inspect the Note attached to the grill.

A person will suddenly appear. They will inform you that the cable car won’t function until you locate the missing bells.

Your Map will now show you the bell locations. Your first stop is the Sheriff’s Office located in the Riverside district, just east of Downtown.

Head back to The Quiet Hours Cafe and use your new key on the Lockbox. You will get the Double Action Mechanism, which is a fantastic upgrade for your Revolver.

Insert the remaining two Statuettes into the cafe’s bird cage to secure the Smooth Stone with a Hole Memento.

Save your progress here before heading out. Your next objective is the Sheriff’s Station in Riverside to find that first bell.
