Control Resonant Subway Fault Guide

Master the subway tunnels and unlock the powerful new Reach ability to help Jesse seal the mysterious Fault in Control Resonant.

Finding Jesse in the Control Resonant subway fault is all about timing your movements through the shifting dimensions. You will spend most of this mission dodging oncoming trains and clearing out clusters of Mold that try to block your progress.

The biggest hurdle here is getting used to the environment constantly changing around you, which can easily lead to a missed jump or a nasty collision with a train. Don’t worry if you take a hit or two while learning the rhythm of the transit tunnels; it happens to everyone.

Before you jump in, make sure you are comfortable with your Shift ability, as you will need it to swap surfaces and reach safer ground. Having a good grasp of your basic mobility is the best way to keep your frustration levels down during the platforming segments.

This is a standalone walkthrough covering the essential steps for this specific area of the game.

  1. Investigate the vision of Jesse
  2. Enter the Fault
  3. Find and talk to Jesse
  4. Help Jesse complete the ritual

Investigate the vision of Jesse

Head down the stairs to enter the subway system and follow the path until you hear the sound of approaching trains. You will hit a section where transit lines block your progress, so watch your timing and jump over the openings whenever the path clears.

These openings are dangerous, so treat them with caution. Time your jumps carefully to ensure you do not fall into the track pit.

Once you clear the second train section, look for an opening ahead. Either drop through it or use Shift to change the surface you are standing on, then locate the doorway near the Mold to proceed.

Clear out the Mold enemies in the tunnel and climb to the right side to keep moving forward. The path will lead you through another section of the subway tunnel.

When a train heads straight for you, quickly move to the side of the tracks to stay safe. Reach the end of the tunnel and climb up to the right again to continue.

Push ahead until you hit the open area infested with Mold. Take out all enemies present to clear the path forward.

Move through the next tunnel until you reach a large drop with moving trains and a visual projection of Jesse. Drop down to start the next sequence.

Look across the space for a platform containing Mold enemies, as this is your designated route.

Clear the platform of enemies and head through the door at the far end. You will witness another vision of Jesse as you transition deeper into the subway.

Enter the Fault

Drop down into the tunnel ahead where you will spot the TV that grants access to the Fault.

Find and talk to Jesse

Move forward through the Fault using your platforming skills until you reach the station area where Jesse is waiting. Approach her and trigger the conversation.

Jesse will explain that following her through the Fault is dangerous because the dimension can strip away your memories and sense of self.

Despite the danger, you must help her close the Fault. She will vanish, leaving you to finish the objective.

Help Jesse complete the ritual

Your conversation grants you the Reach ability, allowing you to grapple onto specific Reach Points throughout the map.

Use Reach and Shift to navigate the platforming challenge and reach the final TV to seal the door.

Follow the path and chain your movement abilities together using the Reach Points. This ability works while jumping, flying, or dodging, so keep an eye out for the interaction prompt.

Keep platforming until you reach the final TV and interact with it to successfully seal the Fault.

Once sealed, Jesse will struggle with memory loss, appearing to forget who you are entirely.

Remember to keep your distance from moving trains during the escape sequences to avoid an early death.
