You are about to push deeper into the cold, abandoned corridors of Aurora 5 in this second part of our RetroSpace walkthrough. Navigating the station requires a mix of keen eyes for hidden paths and the right tools to get past locked doors. If you are stuck or feeling overwhelmed by the environment, focus on securing your attachments early to make your life significantly easier.
It is easy to get turned around when you start encountering your first real threats, so keep your weapon ready as you transition into the garden sections. I honestly wasted way too much time wandering blindly until I realized how interconnected the shortcut doors actually are. Don’t make the same mistake of ignoring those side rooms; that is where you will find the supplies you need to survive.
Before you commit to this run, make sure you have your current objective tracked and double-check your inventory for any spare Credits or scraps. Clearing your inventory slightly will give you the breathing room to pick up the Bertha Shotgun and other essential tech without having to backtrack later. You are going to want every bit of firepower you can find.
Part 2 continues your exploration of Aurora 5 as you push deeper into the station and begin uncovering more of what went wrong. After restoring the generator, you will find new routes, encounter your first enemies, unlock shortcuts, and gain access to the Nexus Plaza Garden. Along the way, you will pick up useful attachments, explore the garden sections, and eventually reach the Head Gardener’s office to retrieve the Gene Sucker.
If you want to learn more about the game, keep exploring the station layouts.
Keep checking back for more parts of this walkthrough as you progress.
Explore the Area After Restoring the Generator
With the generator now operational, head back out of the area. Climb the ladder back up, head to the left, and push the box aside to enter the narrow crawlspace.
Smash the grill at the back of the room to access the tunnel. Climb down the red ladder, and at the back of the room, you will find several lockers filled with Credits and scraps. Move toward the front of this space to find another narrow crawlspace to progress further.
Follow this path to the end, where you will find a corpse holding the Tough as Hell! audio log. Drop down to the side to collect more Credits and scraps before ending up back in the Janitor’s closet.
Return to the Elevator
Return to the elevator and ride it up to the next level. Upon exiting, you will see two doors; head through the unlocked one on the right.
This is where you will face your first real fight, so be ready to shoot. After clearing the room, head down the ramp to find another Suzie Smallgun near a body, which you can choose to scrap. Unlock the door behind the ramp to create a crucial shortcut back to the lobby where you first found those passwords.
Enter the Angel-Symbol Door
Walk back to the ramp and continue moving forward. You will eventually see a door marked with two angel symbols; open it to proceed.
Find the PHCD
After the cutscene finishes and Dr. Nebula makes contact, look to your right. You will spot a corpse, and resting right next to it is the PHCD.
Now that you have the PHCD, your next major objective is to find a path into the Nexus Plaza Garden.
Objective: Find a Way to the Nexus Plaza Garden
Possessing the PHCD opens up several new interactive options for your character.
Navigate around the electrified water surrounding the statue base to find a desktop console on a nearby table. You will need a password to get that terminal running.
Check the map terminal situated directly behind the console to download the local map data.
Enter the Nexus Plaza Garden
Look for the stairs leading to the upper level, where you will see the security section door. Right next to it is the door marked Garden; head through that to enter.
Continue along the path until Dr. Nebula rings you up with your next set of instructions.
Objective: Obtain a Gene Sucker
Keep an eye out for a note resting on the first couch near a corpse in this area.
Find the Bertha Shotgun
Head toward the section labeled B and look for a Heal-a-Dome. Deal with the spider that lunges at you, then follow the left path to find a body hanging nearby with the Bertha Shotgun lying at its feet.
Find the Map and Hacking Attachments
You are aiming for the Head Gardener’s office, but first, veer left into section C to locate a map terminal. You will find a body here with the Map Attachment for your HUD.
Install the Map Attachment now to get a handy minimap on your HUD. You will see an unlocked service door and a locked door, but the service route is blocked by steam. If you don’t have a valve handy, head back, use the console to unlock the door, and proceed through that way.
Take out the enemy waiting on the other side of the door. Keep moving forward past the broken elevator, and look for a Cosmi Cola on the narrow ledge you have to cross.
Reach the end of this path to finally pick up the hacking attachment.
Step out onto the balcony with the damaged railing, which circles back to your previous location. Return to the Head Gardener’s office and use your new hacking attachment to complete the mini-game and bypass the locked terminal door.
Retrieve the Gene Sucker
Search the body inside the office to collect the Gene Sucker and tick this task off your list.
Make sure to keep your health topped up before heading into the next zone; those spiders pack a punch.
