Nivalis Nights puts you in the shoes of a new entrepreneur trying to carve out a niche in a vibrant cyberpunk city. As you build your business, you’ll find yourself entangled in intricate stories and challenges. Some of the pitfalls are surprisingly easy to encounter, like mismanaging your quests or overlooking crucial interactions while juggling your business duties.
As you dive into the mid-game and towards the end-game, it becomes increasingly important to manage your time effectively and prioritize key quests and upgrades. The game has a fantastic way of merging its narrative with gameplay mechanics, which keeps you engaged. Just remember, it’s wise to focus on unlocking and upgrading venues early to avoid getting stuck later.
Before proceeding, ensure you’ve got a handle on your current business operations and make sure you’ve begun upgrading venues for those valuable licenses. This prep will save you a lot of headaches and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Key Quests:
- Thaddeus Retirement
- Purchasing More Venues
- Where Is Ava?
Thaddeus Retirement involves a series of encounters starting with Thaddeus Carminus at your Noodle Bar. He’ll chat with you briefly before he disappears from the scene. A few in-game days later, you’ll meet Gideon, who hints at some manipulation regarding Ava. After conversing with him, Ava will suggest tracking down Gideon for more insight. Eventually, Ava will update you about Gideon’s location, leading you to the highest point at the Docks. Here, you’ll keep the conversation flowing with Gideon until Ava discovers a new name: Alan Fontus. Keep in mind, Alan likes to speak in riddles; he won’t provide you with straightforward information. Your next target will be Gunger Hahn, who also turns out to be less helpful than expected. Days will pass, and you’ll encounter Agent Teleshko, needing some documentation for the bar. Don’t worry if you miss this for a while—Thaddeus will reach out around Day 60 with a cryptic message regarding the Agent. The key to closing this chapter is telling Agent Teleshko, “Your mom told Jaden what you did.” This will resolve the documentation issue, allowing you to progress further. Keep visiting other characters like Banor until you learn about Egress. Eventually, you’ll have to visit different locations, leading to Thaddeus in Egress, where the narrative will weave back around through memory sharing, wrapping up the Thaddeus Retirement quest.
Purchasing More Venues starts when you’ve gotten your Tier 1 and Tier 2 licenses through Teleshko. The game requires you to level up venues—reach level 5 to unlock your licenses and give you access to upgrade more venues. Obtaining a Tier 4 license is a bit trickier since there are only two Tier 4 venues available in the game.
Your first step is renting and upgrading the Tier 3 venue called Azure Breeze on Calypso Island to secure the Tier 4 license. Once obtained, you can then purchase either the Fly In venue located in Spire or the Obsidian Noir venue in the Metro Hub region, expanding your business footprint.
Some days later, a man named Gideon will show up to talk to you. It appears Ava is being manipulated by him. After you talk to Gideon, she’ll tell you to try to find him again so she can learn how to protect herself from him.
Some time later, Ava will report to you that she has uncovered Gideon’s location. You can head to the Docks and climb up to the highest point overlooking the boat docks to find Gideon.
You’ll have to talk to him about random topics until Ava does her thing. She’ll come up with a name after her search: Alan Fontus.
Alan Fontus can be found in the Eastern Residential. Alan Fontus speaks in riddles, and you won’t be able to get anything useful from him. Next, you’ll have to find Gunger Hahn.
Talk to Gunger Hahn, but he won’t say anything useful either. After a few days, Agent Teleshko will show up at the Noodle Bar, asking you to show the documents for the bar. Ava will say that she’ll look for the documents later.
Now, you can forget about the quest for a long while. As you progress in the game and work on your business, you’ll eventually receive a message from Thaddeus. For me, it was around Day 60.
The messages are quite difficult to make sense of, but it does clearly state what you have to say to Agent Teleshko. Go to the Noodle Bar and talk to Agent Teleshko and tell him, “Your mom told Jaden what you did.” Agent Teleshko will drop the documents issue after that.
Ava will talk to you shortly after. You’ll have to return to Banor at the Noodle Bar and talk to him. However, he won’t state anything clear either. You’ll have to wait for more messages from Thaddeus.
As the days go by, you’ll eventually learn about Egress. Talk to Banor again. He’ll tell you about a ticket. You’ll have to talk to Huckstash again. After talking to the two, you’ll get a quest marker in Metro Hub. Go there, and you’ll find a gate. As you pass through the gate, you’ll find multiple holographs of people here at Egress.
You’ll have to return to Huckstash. Wait for a few days, and Ava will tell you that she’s the ticket. You’ll have to go to Egress, and you’ll find Thaddeus here. Talk to him. Thaddeus will still keep going in riddles and will ask you to talk to him again tomorrow.
As you return the next day, Thaddeus will ask you for your consent to share his memories with you, as he has done with the others. Once you agree, you’ll be able to leave the Egress. Shortly after, you’ll receive a message from Thaddeus explaining everything once the memory transfer has failed. This will also complete the Thaddeus Retirement quest.
Purchasing More Venues
After approaching Teleshko to get a Tier 1 and Tier 2 license, you’ll have to rent and level up these venues. Upgrading the venue to level 5 grants you a Tier 1 or Tier 2 license, depending on the venue.
As you upgrade more venues to level 5, you’ll gain more licenses, which will allow you to purchase more venues.
The challenge is obtaining a Tier 4 license. There are only two Tier 4 venues. To get your first Tier 4 license, you’ll have to rent and upgrade the Tier 3 venue called Azure Breeze on Calypso Island.
Once you’ve obtained the Tier 4 license, you can buy the Fly In venue in Spire, or the Obsidian Noir venue in the Metro Hub region.
Where Is Ava? leads you through a more personal narrative as you peel back the layers of Ava’s past. It begins when you receive a strange message suggesting she has memories of books—odd for an Automata. Your first stop should be talking to Gan Coilson , a cleaning bot from an earlier quest. After interacting with Gan, you’ll need to chat with another key NPC, Banor, followed by Huckstash, Alan Fountain, and Gunger. Don’t forget to ask Dr. Alken about Ava’s pain, as every piece of information counts. Your quest takes you to both the Spire and the Skyhigh Gardens to speak with Hepzibah Gimble and then JR Amiga in Central Canyon . After some waiting for messages from Ava, she will push you towards investigating a book fair during curfew in the Sewers. This is a critical juncture, so prepare to stay up late! Once you’ve talked to the NPCs and received a book, the quest will evolve further down various twists and turns involving characters like Nabla and McFellow. Eventually, you’ll find yourself in a scramble for clues regarding Ava’s existence, leading to her past hidden within the Holocropolis and the discovery of the Thera-Pay bots. It’s a journey filled with puzzles, and interacting with Gan will unlock further secrets that could lead you to Ava’s core narrative.
Your journey through Nivalis Nights is filled with rich interactions and branching quests. Stay observant and ready to adapt your strategy as new challenges arise. Each step taken expands not only your business but also unravels the layered stories in this unique cyberpunk world.
As you embark on these quests, keep track of key dialogues and character interactions. They greatly influence your understanding and progression, ultimately determining your success in both business and the realm of Nivalis. Don’t hesitate to revisit areas for missed dialogues or to check back with characters as the game’s events unfold. Happy gaming!
After talking to Gan Coilson, you’ll have to wait some time. You’ll get an update from Ava, and she’ll ask you to talk to Banor.
Once you’ve talked to Banner, you’ll have to talk to Huckstash, Alan Fountain, and Gunger. You’ll also have to ask Dr Alken about Ava’s pain.
The next task for the quest is to find more clues. Now, you’ll have to find and talk to a certain person. Head to the Spire or Skyhigh Gardens.
Here, you’ll find Hepzibah Gimble. Talk to her, and the quest will progress. You’ll then have to talk to JR Amiga in Central Canyon.
Wait for a few days, and you’ll get a notification from Ava. She’ll ask you to investigate a book fair held during curfew. You’ll have to stay out during curfew in the Sewers area. There will be an active lift here.
Take the lift, and you’ll arrive at a gathering. Talk to the three NPCs here, and you’ll get a book.
A few days later, Ava will ask you to seek out Hepzibah Gimble again. Talk to her and wait for a few more days until Ava asks you to find Nabla.
Head to the Industrial District to talk to Nabla. They’ll tell you to wait for a day. Wait for Nabla’s message the next day and talk to them. Nabla will charge you 1,000 Lims for their services.
After a few days, you’ll receive a message from Nabla to meet with McFellow after curfew at the Metro Hub. It appears Nabla has gone into hiding. Head to Metro Hub and find McFellow after curfew. He’ll ask you to see Alexander in Skyhigh Gardens during curfew.
Go to the Skyhigh Gardens the next day and wait for curfew to begin. Find Alexander, and he’ll ask you to see Rollo in the Spire after curfew.
Now, you’ll have to head to the Spire before curfew and find Rollo once the curfew begins. He’ll tell you to meet Nabla in the Stacks after curfew.
When you meet with Nabla the next day, he’ll tell you a lot about LifeCorp and Ava. After your conversation with Nabla, Ava will ask you to meet with Hepzibah Gimble one more time.
The conversation with Hepzibah Gimble reveals a lot of information, and Ava needs some time to process it. Wait for a few days, and Ava will talk to you again, asking you to look for her body in the Holocropolis.
Head to Meridian Street and enter the Holocropolis. Talk to Rosetta here, and she’ll tell you that you can’t find what you’re looking for here. However, Rosetta will give you a hint, asking you to investigate the TheraPay bots, as those bots have been around for a long time.
Head to the Industrial District and look for the old Thera-Pay Bot. Once you find it, you can unplug it and acquire its solid-state drive. Go to the Space Port next and talk to Rosco Foreman. He’ll tell you there’s a terminal here that can decrypt the drive.
Go to the terminal location, but you’ll find it locked behind a code. Shortly, Ava will suggest going to Gan Coilson and asking him about the code.
After getting the code from Gan Coilson, return to the terminal in Space Port. As you interact with the device here, Ava will find out that she’s stored in a secret room in Egress.
Head to the Metro Hub and go down to Egress. There’s a gate here that you’ll be able to get through now. However, you’ll find another locked gate here.
