Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy Y’shtola Guide

Explore Y'shtola's character details, skills, and strategies for combat in Dissidia Duellum.

On October 24, 2026, Square Enix announced that the next character added to Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy will be Y’shtola Rhul from Final Fantasy XIV. This introduction marks the kickoff of the game’s seventh season, which focuses heavily on content from Final Fantasy XIV. Expect plenty of fun updates and fresh strategies centered around this beloved character.

Playing as Y’shtola feels dynamic and engaging, especially with her unique combat style that encourages frontline action despite being a ranged fighter. I was surprised how effective her passive skill can be when paired with teammates, maximizing damage output when you’re surrounded by allies. Make sure to utilize her abilities effectively for a competitive edge!

Before jumping into battle with Y’shtola, check her skill set to understand her strengths. It’s best to approach her passive skill and unique ability strategically, so you can leverage the bonuses when in team fights right from the start.

Y’shtola is classified as a Ranged fighter but will often find herself in the thick of things due to her skill mechanics. Her abilities allow her to deal significant damage from a distance while still benefiting from being in close proximity to allies. You won’t want to play her passively; instead, engage and support your team with her strong damage potential.

Passive Skill: Sorceress of the Seventh Dawn – Increases ATK when allies are nearby

Unique Ability: Fire of the Seventh Dawn – Hold to unleash a far-reaching attack against foes directly in front of you. This attack is a game-changer in group skirmishes!

In addition to her passive skills, players can pull for her exclusive abilities within the gacha system.

UR: Dragon Slash-Cross – Launches an area attack that hits foes in a wide arc. It’s handy during chaotic battles and can change the tide quickly.

UR: Spiritual Ray – Another area attack, this one offers ultimate damage across a broad radius around Y’shtola, making it perfect for clearing space.

As with the other characters, Y’shtola and her skills must be drawn from the game’s gacha system. However, you can also earn Y’shtola as a natural reward through the seasonal pass, giving you a great shot at adding her to your roster.

Besides Y’shtola, you’ll see other exciting additions in the upcoming season. Gaia, the other representative from Final Fantasy XIV, will receive a new cosmetic costume called “Iceshade Serenade.” Keep in mind that while it’s visually appealing, it won’t impact gameplay.

Final Fantasy XIV’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, has also shared insights regarding Y’shtola’s addition to the game, emphasizing the balance and excitement she will bring to the roster.

Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy is available for download on both Android and iOS. The new season, titled “Dawn’s Light,” starts on October 27, 2026. However, note that the following eighth season will not introduce a new character, as it is focused on rerunning previously released banners.
