Julia can now descend the lower floors of Ivan’s Apartment building with the Red Candle in hand. However, the deeper she goes, the older the memories she encounters, adding an eerie twist to her journey!
This section focuses on obtaining the three film canisters you’ll need as you unravel the mysteries in Tenebris Somnia.

Floor 1 Room B is where the action begins. After securing the USB Cable from the Bar , return to the elevator. Combine the Lighter with the Red Candle in your inventory, then use the Red Candle while standing in the elevator to proceed.
Now, you can access Floor 1 when the elevator door opens.
Upon arriving at the Floor 1 hall, be prepared to encounter the first Bloater. It’s crucial to clear it quickly and run, or you’ll be greeted with an explosion. Door A on the left leads to the Movie Theater; however, there’s a locked door that requires a combination code.
As soon as you arrive at the Floor 1 hall, you’ll encounter the first Bloater enemy. Make sure you run away once you take it out, as it’ll explode. Door A on the left leads to the Movie Theater, but there’s a locked door inside that we’ll need a combination code to unlock.
First, go to the right through Door B into the Production Set . Move down the hallway; the north door leads to the Bathroom for saving your game. Head to the south door instead.
You’ll enter the Dining Room Film Set for Devora. There are three doors on the northern wall; the left door goes back to the hallway, the middle door is locked, so take the right door.
Ascend the stairs and go through the door at the top of the first flight.
This leads to another hallway where you’ll find a locked door with a hook. Grab the Black Tape from the cabinet near that door and head back to the stairwell.
Head all the way to the top and grab the USB Adapter from the ground, noticing the boarded-up door at the top as well.
Then, return to Ivan’s Study on Floor 3. Combine the USB Cable with the USB Adapter.
Use the USB Charger by the phone and it will power on, revealing a four-digit code that Julia writes down in the Old Book: 2431. This will also trigger a cutscene.
Return to Floor 1 through Door A. The north door leads to the Movie Theater. Unlock the adjacent padlocked door using the code you obtained. There’s also a Photo Roll on the floor near the door.
Floor 1 Door A – Projector Room/Movie Theater
Stand beside the projector and use the Film Canister from Ivan’s Study on Floor 2 to view the first part of Devora in cutscene form.
After the cutscene, return to the first room and take the north door leading to the Movie Theater. Inspect the open chest on the left to gather the Plate with X. Remember the two remaining locked boxes nearby; you’ll need to find two more Film Canisters to unlock them.
Stand beside the projector and use the Film Canister (found in Ivan’s Study on Floor 2) in your inventory to watch the first part of Devora.
After the cutscene, head down to the first room and take the north door to get to the Movie Theater. Inspect the open chest on the left to grab the Plate with X. Note the two remaining locked boxes nearby. You’ll need to find two more Film Canisters to open them.
Next, return to Ivan’s Apartment on Floor 3 . Use the Square Stone to unlock the door by the Bedroom .
Once inside, a live-action cutscene will trigger. Grab the White Candle from the bedside cabinet. Also, note the locked drawer on the cabinet that needs attention later.
Now, return to the elevator and use the White Candle after lighting it up. Descend to Floor 0.
Pass through the glass door to enter the Film School.
Obtaining the White Candle (Floor 0 Key)
Return to Ivan’s Apartment on Floor 3 and use the Square Stone near the Bedroom door to unlock it.
Head inside to trigger a live-action cutscene. Grab the White Candle from the bedside cabinet on the left. Also note the locked drawer on the bedside cabinet to the right. The photo is missing from the picture frame.
Leave the Apartment. At this point, I would suggest using the Screwdriver to grab the Pipe in the Bar’s Bathroom. It’s a massive upgrade over the Wrench.
Return to the elevator and Use the White Candle after lighting it up. Head down to Floor 0.
Now, return to the entrance of the Film School and go up through the door to reach the stairwell.
Exploring the Film School
As you enter the ground floor of the Film School, you’ll find three colored doors along the hallway: blue, green, and red.
Enter through the Blue Door first to get to the Screenwriting Class. You can save your progress here. Grab the Photo Paper from the table right above you.
The Green Door comes next, which leads to the Cinematography Class. There’s a camera aimed at the person with the Shotgun. You can grab the Shotgun. The TV at the top has no signal right now. You can connect the camera to the TV, but you’ll need an RCA Cable for it.
Proceed left along the hallway past the spike trap to find the Green Door leading to the Equipment Storage Room.
Notice the several switches on the wall, but we’ll have to solve a puzzle here in due time. For now, leave the room and continue heading left.
Next, you’ll find the Blue Door past another set of spikes, alongside a Green Vase at the passage’s end.
Entering the Blue Door brings you to the Film History Class, where you’ll see a Film Canister on the table. Resist the urge to grab it; this is the last one we’ll collect.
Go back to the stairwell and ascend to the top where you’ll find a symbol-locked door leading to a large mirror that we’re unable to access currently.
The white cable remains electrified, while the blue cable powers down sporadically. Take note that the grill covering the switch on the right rises when the bottom-left switch is activated.
Wait for the grill to fully rise. Activate the bottom-left switch again to momentarily power down the white cable and quickly head to the right to activate the second switch.
At the top-left switch, use the Piece of Cable from your inventory and activate it afterwards.
Finally, return to the bottom-left switch one last time to ephemerally eliminate the mannequin and check the wooden box for the RCA Cable.
The Blue Door takes you to the Film History Class. You can see a Film Canister on the table. Don’t grab it yet. This is the last one we’ll collect.
Go back to the stairwell and head to the top. There’s a symbol-locked door at the top that leads to a large mirror. But we have no way to access it at the moment.
Obtaining the Black Candle (Floor -1 Access Key)
The Electrical Current Room Puzzle Solution (Obtaining the RCA Cable)
Return to the Equipment Storage Room and interact with the switch on the bottom-left part. This will cause the white and blue cables on the floor to be electrified.
The white cable is constantly electrified, while the blue cable has moments when it’s not powered. Also note that the grill blocking the switch on the right moves up when the bottom left switch is powered.
Wait for the grill to go up fully. Then activate the bottom left switch again to power down the white cable. Quickly make your way toward the switch on the right before the grill comes down and activate it. You’ll have to time your movement to avoid getting electrocuted by the blue cable.
Activating the switch in time opens the locked cabinet at the top. Grab the Piece of Cable from the cabinet.
Go to the switch on the top left and use the Piece of Cable in your inventory while standing near it. Activate the switch afterward.
Now navigate to the switch on the bottom left one last time and activate it to make the mannequin disintegrate.
Check the wooden box to find the RCA Cable.
