Alucard’s Sword and Shield is the best weapon set in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, providing top-notch attack power and unique abilities. You’ll find it essential for ramping up your damage output during gameplay. This is one of those items that radically shifts your performance, especially in tougher fights.
Alucard’s Sword and Shield boasts an impressive 33 ATK, making it the most potent weapon and shield combination available in the game. Originally wielded by Dracula’s son, this set not only amps up your damage but also features a special ability allowing Rose to teleport while attacking. The shield can block incoming damage in typical fashion, or you can execute a shield bash with the Whip Attack, which is always a nice touch when you’re getting overwhelmed.
Your quest for the weapon starts at the hidden red door near Alucard’s Portrait, located in the Entrance Corridor area of the Main Hall. It might take a bit of searching, so keep your eyes peeled for anything that looks out of place.
From Alucard’s Portrait, jump into the portrait located to the right and make your way upwards. This part can be confusing, so double-check that you’re heading in the right direction.
Next, you’ll head towards the Grand Hall Door located at the northern section. It’s straightforward from here, but don’t rush; you want to explore and gather resources where you can.
Follow this path: Armoury > Archives > Path of the Cockroach > Dungeon. Once you’ve reached the Dungeon, drop down into the central area to find the door leading to the Grand Hall.
Inside the Grand Hall, you’ll notice a gear hanging from the ceiling. Hit it repeatedly to unlock access to the top floor. Go right and then upwards where you’ll spot another Alucard Portrait pointing up, indicating a secret path above.
Continue right from this room to the Bridge of Knowledge. Be sure to eliminate any blue flames you encounter along the way; these can complicate your progress later.
If you read the diary on the desk, you’ll learn about the blue flames and their significance. They are preventing you from accessing Alucard’s Room, with five flames in total blocking your route.
If you read the diary on the desk, you will understand why.
To tackle the tricky bottom flame, head back up and move to the left side of the Bridge of Knowledge. Drop into the gap and swing on the Luminous Anchors to navigate to the right.
Swing through and upward into the chamber to take out the flame. After you’ve dealt with it, head back up to Alucard’s Room to claim your prize.
Swing through and up into the chamber to destroy the flame. Once done, go back up to Alucard’s room to get the weapon.
