Central is the second area you will explore in Control Resonant, and I have put together this guide to make sure you find every hidden upgrade and secret without getting turned around. Don’t worry about missing anything on your first pass, as some of these spots are tucked away in corners you might easily walk right past.
The puzzles here can be a bit finicky, especially the laundromat sequence which tripped me up for a solid ten minutes. It is easy to waste time wandering through the streets when the loot you need is usually hiding in plain sight inside the nearby service rooms or rooftops.
Before you commit to clearing the area, make sure your traversal abilities are refreshed and you have enough health packs. I’d also recommend checking your current clearance level, as you will need at least Level 2 access to grab some of the better power upgrades later on.
This is a work in progress article, as we may have missed some things given that this is Remedy and they love their secrets, so keep checking back as we continue exploring.

Large Resource Crate Locations – Health Upgrade
#1
This one is tucked right next to the Vendor of Central. Refer to the specific Vendor location details further down to find it easily.
#2
During the Clear The Supply Route objective in the Welcome To Manhattan quest, you will reach the subway station that leads to the FBC Field Office.
Just before you exit the station, duck into the small room to the left to find the crate holding the Health Upgrade.
#3
Look for the Urban Fresh supermarket located west of the Field Office. Head inside the store to find another Health Upgrade waiting in a crate.
#4
While completing the Central Resonant main quest, you must destroy the lava globs to open the way forward. As you follow the right-hand path toward the glob, keep an eye out for a small living space.
In that same room, you will find a crate containing another Health Upgrade.
#5
During the Power Lines main quest, your goal is to reroute the Vanished Station. Once you are on Platform A, take the stairs up and move the charge over to the power cell sitting right there.
This action opens the room containing the units for the puzzle, and if you head to the very back, you will spot the Health Upgrade crate.
Large Resource Crate Locations – Power Upgrade
#1
In the Clear The Supply Route objective of Welcome To Manhattan, you will enter a cellar where you need to use a power charge on one of two doors.
Apply the charge to the regular door on the left side to discover the Power Upgrade inside.
#2
There is a crate located on the upper floor of the Patterned Factory, but you will need to move a power charge to the door’s cell to get at it.
Go outside the factory to the Power Core Station, grab one of the charges, and carry it inside. Jump up and hit the power cell to engage it.
This will unlock the room, letting you claim your Power Upgrade.
#3
Once you finish the Evacuation Procedures main quest, you will be rewarded with a Level 2 clearance keycard.
Return to the Field Office and travel west to unlock the R&C Storage room. You will find another Power Upgrade inside.
Vendor Location
You can find the Vendor of Central sitting on the rooftop of the building located at the far eastern edge of the map.
Terminal Location
The Terminal in Central is situated within the Field Office area, just northeast of the sensor used to reveal the map. Step into the building, and you will see it right in front of you.
The questions here are unique, and these are the answers we selected to proceed.
- Q: Allegedly, you are a former host (Carrier? Avatar?) of the Hiss. Is this true? A: Yes.
- Q: The Hiss are extradimensional resonance. Allegedly you are immune to it. Is This because of your relationship to Director Faden? A: Yes.
- Q: There is concern that you are “just a meat puppet” worn by the Hiss. Are you actually Dylan Faden? A: Yes.
Secret Location – Wear’Em & Wash’Em Laundromat
The Wear’Em & Wash’Em Laundromat is a secret area in Central found just east of the Field Office. You will know you have found it when you see the Hiss barrier blocking the way.
To drop the barrier, you have to destroy four Hiss Nodes connected to it by following the red trail.
First Node: Look for this one on the opposite side of the laundromat building.
Second Node: Find this on the rooftop to the northwest, hidden behind the sign.
Third Node: Tucked into a corner behind the main laundromat building.
Final Node: Located just northeast of the laundromat on the rooftop.
After the fourth node is gone, the barrier will dissipate, granting you access.
Puzzle Solution
Inside, check the bulletin board for two notes. The one titled Laundry Puzzle provides the hint you need for the floor layout.
The drawing is effectively a top-down map of the laundromat floor, with each line of text representing a row of machines starting from the front entrance.
Each line of text on the paper corresponds to one row of washing machines, starting from the front entrance and working back toward the office.
The numbers act as binary switches: 1 means the machine must be turned ON, while 0 means it must be turned OFF.
Before you begin, reset every machine to the OFF position so you can follow this sequence without any confusion.
| Row | Pattern | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Row 1 | 0001000 | Turn ON the 4th machine |
| Row 2 | 001100 | Turn ON the 3rd and 4th machines |
| Row 3 | 100001 | Turn ON the 1st and 6th machines |
| Row 4 | 000000 | Leave all OFF |
| Row 5 | 000000 | Leave all OFF |
| Row 6 | 000000 | Leave all OFF |
| Row 7 | 100000 | Turn ON the 1st machine |
Before you start fiddling with the puzzle, make sure to turn OFF every single machine so you can follow our solution easily.
| Row 1 | 0001000 | Turn ON the 4th machine. |
| Row 2 | 001100 | Turn ON the 3rd and 4th machines. |
| Row 3 | 100001 | Turn ON the 1st and 6th machines. |
| Row 4 | 000000 | Leave all machines OFF. |
| Row 5 | 000000 | Leave all machines OFF. |
| Row 6 | 000000 | Leave all machines OFF. |
| Row 7 | 100000 | Turn ON the 1st machine. |
Once the pattern is set, the secret back door will unlock. Go downstairs to claim your Health Upgrade and some extra collectibles.
Dog Location
Find the mysterious dog on the eastern rooftop of Central. After you interact with him, you need to track down his missing dinosaur toy.
Look below the red lasers to spot the toy near the Dog Shelter door, then bring it back to the dog’s bed.
Dylan’s Sketchbook Location
East of the Field Office , you will see a blue tarp in a small yard; interact with it to trigger the sketchbook event.
Simply place the three cats near their bowl and the basket on the left. Once Dylan confirms it is correct, you can draw it.
Camera Location
#1
Start at the Watchtower fast travel point and head to the lower elevator level. Descend the stairs on the right to reach the very bottom.
Enter the room with the red light and scale the scaffolding. You will find a camera that freezes time; after it vanishes, wait for the clicking sound to know it has reset.
Return to the scaffolding but stay put. Look up to spot a hole in the ceiling, climb through, and follow the path to drop down right behind the camera.
Keep in mind that each zone has two cameras that often require advanced traversal or combat abilities to successfully reach and disable.
Before you start the process again, make sure you are away from the camera’s location. You will hear a click sound, which signals that the camera has returned to its location.
Now, head back to the scaffolds and climb up to the ground level, but don’t move forward. Instead, look up and you will see a hole in the ceiling.
Climb up and follow the path without falling down until you reach the end. Drop down and you will find yourself directly behind the camera. Interact with it and it will still disappear.
Each Zone has two camera locations that you can find, and they usually require you to have your traversal abilities unlocked. Some of them also require special combat abilities.
