DRAPLINE is a roguelite trainer where you spend a year raising a dragon girl to reach her full potential. You feed her specific items to boost stats, mix and match skills for your build, and prepare her for the intense trials waiting ahead.
The Aura system is a huge part of how your training turns out, shifting based on your stat choices and how you treat her during the run. There are six unique auras to collect, and getting them right comes down to hitting specific stat targets and staying consistent with your behavior.
Before you dive into a new run, make sure you know which stats you’re targeting first. It is really easy to accidentally spread your points too thin early on, which often leads to a random aura instead of the one you are actually trying to unlock.
Your aura is part of the core training system and shifts based on the stats you build and how you treat your dragon girl. DRAPLINE has 6 Auras available to collect, and this article breaks down the exact stat combinations and behaviors required for each one.
How Auras Work in DRAPLINE
The six auras are divided by your focus on Offensive and Defensive stats.
Offensive stats:
- STR
- INT
- AGI
Defensive stats:
- HP
- VIT
- RES
Your treatment of the dragon girl also determines the outcome:
Kind
- Let her eat whatever she wants.
- Praise her when she hits a milestone.
- Refuse to scold her for mistakes.
- During the three-week island phase, letting her eat everything counts as a Kind action.
Strict
- Don’t allow her to eat random food.
- Withhold praise when she does well.
- Scold her when she fails a task.
- On the three-week island, telling her to leave items for the environment counts as a Strict action.
Your final aura is based entirely on the combination of these factors rather than your RULE or WILD values.

Adored
To unlock this Aura, focus your training on STR and AGI while maintaining a Kind attitude toward your dragon girl.
You need your offensive stats to consistently outweigh your defensive stats, specifically prioritizing STR and AGI.
Chill
Chill is the defensive aura you earn when you maintain a Kind demeanor.
Pump points into HP, VIT, and RES so your defensive stats are clearly higher than your offensive ones. Make sure you keep those Kind choices going until after you take down the second boss.
Mischievous
Prioritize STR and keep your training Strict.
The newer aura requirements favor a single focused stat, so avoid spreading your offensive stats too thin if you are aiming for Mischievous.
Reserved
Focus on your defensive stats and keep your training Strict.
Build HP, VIT, and RES, then maintain a strict routine with the dragon girl. These defensive stats must be higher than your offensive stats by the time you reach the second boss fight.
Whimsical
Whimsical is one of the newer auras and is quite a bit more specific than the classic ones.
Prioritize INT and AGI, stay Strict, and make sure INT acts as your primary stat.
My testing showed that AGI needs to stay higher than STR for this to trigger. Aim for a hierarchy of INT > AGI > STR to be safe.
Don’t forget to stay Strict throughout the training. If your STR accidentally climbs above your AGI, you will likely trigger a different aura.
Steady
For Steady, make INT your main stat and remain Kind.
This aura is laser-focused on INT, so avoid the temptation to dump points into STR or AGI alongside your main focus.
When Does the Aura Get Decided?
Your aura is officially determined by your stats and current behavior before you defeat the second boss.
There is no benefit to waiting until the end to start shifting your stats. Build toward your desired aura from day one and stay consistent with your Kind or Strict decisions.
With the newer auras, being precise with your stat allocation is vital. Spreading points too evenly often causes the game to roll an older, more general aura instead.
Do RULE and WILD Affect the Aura?
After extensive testing, I can confirm that RULE and WILD do not impact which aura you receive.
Your only real priorities are:
- Balancing your offensive and defensive stats.
- Choosing between Kind or Strict actions.
- Finalizing your stat balance before the second boss fight.
For Whimsical specifically, keep INT as your primary stat while ensuring AGI remains higher than STR and staying Strict.
Remember that your choices throughout the game also influence the endings you get. If you are hunting for those as well, take a look at my DRAPLINE All Endings Guide to cover all your bases.
