Nivalis Beginner Guide – Business And Quest Tips

Master your new life in Nivalis with this guide to securing your boat, managing multiple business venues, and navigating the Network storyline.

Nivalis is an engaging life simulator where you start as a humble food stall owner and work your way up to running a business empire. Mastering the city requires you to balance managing your Noodle Bar with taking on quests that unlock new districts and opportunities.

You will often find yourself short on cash or unsure how to navigate the sprawling urban map, which is a common stumbling block for new players. The best approach is to focus on income-generating activities early so you can reinvest in your operations before the bills pile up.

Before diving into the city, make sure you have enough LIMS to cover your initial transportation costs to the Docks. Establishing your mobility early makes every other objective significantly easier to reach as you progress through the narrative.

Getting A Boat

Getting your own transport is vital for unlocking new regions, so head to the Docks as soon as your restaurant is functional. You can catch a cab from Meridian Market to reach the waterfront quickly.

Once you arrive, venture deeper into the area to find the Fishmonger’s shop where Salt Pete is located. It is easy to miss if you stick to the main entrance, so keep moving inward.

The quest to find Salt Pete triggers automatically when you wake up in your apartment on Day 3. Simply complete the conversation with him, and he will grant you access to a boat.

Head toward the boat moored near the entrance of the Docks. You need to speak with Karel Crabface Jones and confirm you have already spoken to Salt Pete to claim your vessel.

Your boat allows you to travel between regions using the water tunnels, starting with the Stacks. Once you visit a region by any method—boat, cab, or metro—you unlock the ability to fast travel there later.

Your boat runs on fuel and features a control panel with three main buttons. The red button serves as your anchor for fishing, while the blue button toggles your navigation lights.

Keep an eye on the fuel gauge located on the left side of your interface. You can refill at gas stations situated on the water, with a convenient one located just south of the Docks near the Oil Rig.

Dock at the pump and initiate the transfer; it will keep filling for LIMS until you manually stop it. Your capacity will increase as you train your boating skills, and you can even catch some sleep in the control room seats if you are stuck out during curfew.

The boat’s radar is essential for finding hidden treasure spots while out at sea. When you arrive at a docking location—indicated by blue circles turning green—use the lever on the control panel to auto-dock your craft.

Fishing

Fishing is a reliable way to pad your income when business is slow. Find Boardwalk Ady near your boat at the Docks to pick up your first fishing rod.

Equip the rod from your inventory, then cast your line into waters where fish are visibly active. Wait for a bite and reel it in to secure your catch.

A Hacker’s Guide To Exploring Nivalis

If you want to open up restricted regions, find Kai Galosh in the Eastern Residential district. He acts as your guide for unlocking new parts of the city map.

Reach him by taking the train from Meridian Market. He will explain that your access to certain areas is tied directly to your current achievements.

You can farm achievements by consistently talking to vendors, fishing, and growing your business. Check your map regularly; locked regions will display the number of achievements required to gain entry.

Kai Galosh will also provide specific objectives, such as catching rare fish species, cultivating unique plants, or dining at other restaurants throughout the districts.

The Network

After your Ramen Noodle Bar is up and running, a character named Edison will visit with an offer of cheap onions. Trust Ava and accept his proposal to get things moving.

When he returns later to ask for a favor, agree to help him. This marks the true start of The Network questline.

Head to the Stacks region and follow your marker to the Gen Debtor Hideout. Interact with the chest there to deposit the IDs Edison provided.

Expect a visit from a health inspector a few days later, alleging that your food is making customers sick. This is part of the ruse.

Consult Edison, who will provide 1000 LIMS as a payout. You must then locate Cirian Krell at either the Metro Hub or Helix Monumental.

After speaking with Cirian Krell, return to Edison to update him on the situation. Your next steps will rely on these interactions.

When you return home, you will encounter Mica Rain in your apartment. Do not divulge any information about Edison to her.

Check in with Baron afterward; he has more context regarding the tainted onions that caused the health inspection trouble.

Track down Harmony in Lowtown to get the Windowpane Lager. Take this item to Alexander at the Conland Containers building in the Industrial District to finally meet with Edison again.

Once you have met Edison, you have to wait for Ava to prepare a counter-strategy. She will suggest involving Freya to handle Mica.

Wait a few more days until you receive a message from Edison. Meet him at Odin’s Pub in the Industrial District to learn that Freya is hiding out on Calypso Island.

Travel to Calypso Island to find Alexander. You will need a gift to secure an appointment with Freya, so find Reehan on the island to receive instructions on heading to the Oil Rig.

Speak with Finlay Basin at the Oil Rig and purchase a bone fragment for 100 LIMS. Bring this back to Alexandria on Calypso Island to gain your audience with Freya.

Negotiate with Freya, then return to your Noodle Bar. Speak with Mica and convince her to travel to Calypso Island.

Go back to Freya to confirm the arrangement. She will keep her word, and you will see Edison and his niece safely depart the city.

Edison will send you a parting gift, officially concluding The Network questline.

Buying A Second Venue (Business Empire Quest)

Agent Teleshko will eventually approach you about expanding your business. He can be abrasive, but his directive is to guide you toward finding Brooke in Lowtown.

Speak to Brooke and inform him that his current operating license is being revoked and transferred to your possession.

He will try to negotiate a deal, but I recommend declining his offer. Return to Agent Teleshko and update him on Brooke’s reaction.

Once you report back, Agent Teleshko handles the legal side, and you should return to Brooke one final time to finalize the revocation of his license.
