Head Toward The Lodge
Drop down from the Cliff of Longing Bell and make your way to the lodge on your left. Once inside, you’ll notice the cellar crank is missing from the mechanism. Be sure to activate the Bell located just behind the house before proceeding.
The crank is situated on the upper floor; you’ll need to climb up from the left side to retrieve it from the balcony. Watch out for the green mist, as it can poison you if you’re not careful.
Progress A Healer’s Mercy Tale
Before unlocking the cellar, go southeast of the house to find a ladder leading down. Descend, and you’ll encounter another thief who can be healed with Yu’er’s medicine. That’s now three out of the four thieves healed.
Unlock The Cellar
Unlock The Cellar
Next to the thief, there’s a door that can only be opened from the other side—this will be dealt with later when we head back to the cellar. For now, head back upstairs and use the crank to unlock the cellar door.
Obtain A Sha-Chi Amber Shard
After entering the cellar, pick up a collectible ahead. First, go to the right where the poison mist is; lure the enemy out before defeating it to keep your health intact.
Once you’re at full HP, follow the poisonous path to the end and open the chest to obtain a Sha-Chi Amber Shard. The mist is dangerous, but it won’t outright kill you—it can leave you with just 1 HP if you’re not careful.
Progress Secrets Of The Baishan Sect
Now, drop down to the opposite side and retrieve the glowing quest items. Start with the one on the left, the Crimson Forest Secret Chamber, required for progressing the tale.
Afterward, make your way towards the red room at the end of the passage. Use the crank to unlock the cell and talk with the wounded woman inside.
She’ll point you towards the Baishan Sect Leader, who’s found at the Mandate Encampment—a location you’ll visit later.
Obtain The Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key
Now head back up one floor and jump across to grab the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key, which opens a door back at the Thieves’ Camp.
You can also unlock a shortcut to the wounded thief you saved earlier, allowing you to remove his icon from your map.
Obtain A Black Stone Shard
Next to the Crimson Forest Secret Chamber, make sure to open the chest to find a Black Stone Shard.
Interact With The Memory Flower
Before leaving the cellar completely, head to the opposite end to discover a Memory Flower. You’ll see a solid stone wall next to it, requiring a Phantom Edge to break.
Since you don’t have the right tool yet, this wall will be marked on your map for later.
Complete A Healer’s Mercy Tale
We should use the key before continuing with the main story. Fast travel back to the Thieves’ Camp and unlock the dungeon door.
Inside, heal the last thief you need to find, thus completing the quest. Afterward, head outside to speak to Yu’er and inform her that you’ve assisted all the wounded around the forest.
Now that you’re around this area, why not step outside and have a chat with Yu’er? Let her know that you’ve taken care of all the injured individuals in the forest.
As a reward, you’ll receive the Calming Gourd, a defensive accessory that lets you recover from a guard break after using medicine and prevents Sha-Chi consumption for 3 seconds.
Quick Hand’s Request Collectible Quest: Crimson Forest, Third Treasure
Since you’ve unlocked the dungeon early, head back inside and go right to find a green chest containing another relic for the Quick Hand quest.
Complete The Quick Hand’s Request Collectible Quest: Crimson Forest
With this done, initiate a trip to Zhang’s hideout and select Lost Treasures of the Crimson Forest for a sweet reward—the Flying Dagger Phantom Edge.
Continue The Main Story
Continue The Main Story
Fast travel back to the Cliffside Lodge and head south. You’ll come across a path leading into the fog. Approaching it will trigger a cutscene where Soul is chased by one of the Order’s envoys.
This same envoy, The Crusher and the Saw, is hunting Soul due to his earlier actions. Make sure to keep your wits about you during this tense chase.
Once you’ve managed to evade them, you’ll discover a memory flower and a bell ahead, which you can activate. Before proceeding, prepare yourself as a formidable boss fight is right around the corner.
Don’t head in unprepared—check your inventory and skills before engaging.
Defeat Stone Hand Iron Fever
Iron Fever specializes in close-range combat, delivering a barrage of punches and kicks. His swift combos can be tricky to dodge since he always closes the distance.
Manage your Sha-Chi wisely and focus on parrying his attacks; missed parries can quickly deplete your Sha-Chi.
Although his combo patterns may seem repetitive, they end in either a red or blue flash. Parry the blue ones and dodge the red attacks just in time to activate a counterattack—this is your best chance for both damage and survival.
Don’t let the pace overwhelm you. Stay patient; parrying can lead to opportunities to strike.
When his health hits halfway, Iron Fever becomes more erratic, engulfed in purple flames which heighten his aggression and reduce recovery time between strikes.
Keep an eye out for more frequent flash attacks—these openings are crucial for dealing significant damage.
Once you take him down, you’ll be rewarded with the Iron Gauntlets Phantom Edge. Don’t forget to grab the memory flower in the arena before exiting.
Start The Resonant String Collectible Quest
Start The Resonant String Collectible Quest
Proceed through the cave on the opposite side from where you dropped down, moving forward until the path splits. Be sure to interact with the nearby Memory Flower to initiate The Resonant String, a quest tracking all of Inanis’s Memory Flowers.
Bloodline Awakening Story: The Crimson Forest Lóng Pillar
Bloodline Awakening Story: The Crimson Forest Lóng Pillar
Start by heading left, clearing some enemies along the way while gathering upgrade materials and loot. Backtrack to take the right path and find a Bell near the Dragon Pillar, which brings you to a Bloodline Awakening trial.
Upon triggering the bell, you’ll teleport back to where you battled the Gold-Masked One earlier. If you won that encounter, you’ll face a different, tougher trial this time. Don’t fret if you can’t win; it’s advisable to return later.
Complete Illusion Of Inanis Story
If you’ve already defeated your opponent in the initial encounter, you’ll be in for a different sort of challenge when you face them again. This time, you’ll find that you might struggle to come out on top, so it’s totally okay to postpone this fight for now.
Complete Illusion Of Inanis Story
After the trial, follow the north path and utilize your Hunt weapon to swing across the branches. In case you struggle like I did the first time, keep in mind that falling leads to poison mist below.
Progress steadily north, defeating any enemies you encounter and collecting the Memory Flowers you see along the way. Eventually, Lady Inanis catches up with you to discuss pressing matters.
She will assist you in clearing the remaining fog, allowing your journey to get back on track.
Unlock The Heart Of The Banyan Collectible Quest
During your talk with Lady Inanis, make sure to select the “Train Abilities” option. She’ll inform you about a unique Banyan Tree where you can take on a challenge to unlock valuable skills.
Once the discussion wraps up, she disperses the fog and vanishes, unable to maintain her Illusion form.
The Banyan Heart Location: Crimson Forest
From here, head south towards the unique hollow tree on the lake to begin the Banyan Tree challenge.
This challenge consists of three waves—two waves of enemies followed by a boss fight against a familiar opponent, Jing Ye, The Outlaw.
Whenever you finish a wave, you unlock a checkpoint, meaning if you fail during the boss phase, you only have to redo that part.
While the enemies are manageable, Jing Ye may provide a tougher challenge—be ready for it!
Completing the challenge nets you the Banyan’s Heart and advances that collectible quest.
This heart is useful for unlocking special abilities through Ability Training, enhancing your skill repertoire significantly.
Complete The Resonant String Collectible Quest
From the Banyan Tree, make your way to the northernmost area along the path. It’s straightforward, with more Memory Flowers marking the route.
Follow The Weeping Sounds
Follow The Weeping Sounds
Once you reach this section, you’ll find yourself trapped between three blue portals. Going through the wrong one keeps you stuck here.
Near one of the trees is an engraving saying, “Follow the sound of weeping.” To escape the maze, stand in front of each portal and listen for the corresponding sound.
The portal from which the sound emerges is the correct one. Repeat the process three times to successfully navigate out.
After each successful escape, you’ll interact with a Memory Flower meant for Bai Chilian; you’ll only encounter two of them here.
Once you escape, prepare yourself for another crucial boss fight. Touch the Bell here to upgrade your gear and refine your skills further.
Defeat Bai Chilian, Lady Of The Twin Serpents: First Phase
Bai Chilian is swift and unpredictable. She teleports across the arena, mixing spinning attacks with quick multi-hit combos, and can summon serpents from below.
The appearance of the serpents complicates the fight, as they can bombard you while she attacks. Keep your distance or dodge back if you feel surrounded.
She also throws weapons from afar, especially after teleporting. Parry this attack to gain a brief opening to strike back.
Most of her combos end with heavy strikes, and you’ll need to react accordingly. When you see her float and the screen darkens, dodge sideways to evade.
Generally, her spinning combos conclude with a flash attack. If she maintains a low stance, it’s a red attack—dodge it; if she’s in the air, it’s blue—parry and counter.
Remember: you can hit her right after she reappears from a teleport, but only get in a few hits; full combos might leave you open to punishment.
Defeat Bai Chilian, The Sacrificial Serpent: Second Phase
During this tricky phase, remember that you can hit her just as she teleports back into view to throw her off balance. Be mindful not to go all out with your combos, though, as trying to unleash a full combo can lead to some serious punishment.
Defeat Bai Chilian, The Sacrificial Serpent: Second Phase
After depleting her health, Bai Chilian enters her second phase, restoring her health and transforming into the Sacrificial Serpent.
Completing Lady Inanis’ side quests likely granted us assistance in this fight. If you did the quests, you might summon her Illusion to make things a bit easier.
She retains her spinning slashes and combos but loses her teleporting ability; however, she gains extra range thanks to her serpent limbs.
She’ll launch long-reaching attacks, wherein you should parry the strikes or dodge backward to avoid damage.
Her lunging assaults all share similarities, so read the colors: dodge red attacks, parry blue ones. Stay alert for the dangerous dark spins as they can catch you off guard.
Dodge the first two lunges of her spinning attack and time your parries for the final one. If you dodge it, you’re in a safer position.
Whenever she summons giant serpents, back away and let the summoning finish before taking them out quickly one by one.
End Chapter
When she levitates to the center of the arena and summons a quartet of enormous serpents, your best course of action is to step back and allow the summoning to complete. After that, your goal should be to take down each of those serpents as swiftly as possible.
You may want to keep the Fanatic’s Broken Blade on hand during the Tipsy state. It’s got that handy ranged attack, but just keep in mind that the damage can drop off quite a bit.
End Chapter
Upon overcoming Bai Chilian, a flashback unfolds from the previous forest encounter.
You will witness the Chord getting stabbed by one of the Mandate members who conspire with Zuo Shang to destabilize the mission.
The scene darkens as you see Zuo Shang assassinate another operation member, shrouded in the Herald’s laughter echoing through.
Soul awakens at a Crane Bell, receiving the White Serpent and Crimson Viper weapon as a trophy for your perseverance.
