RetroSpace Medical Section Guide – Ending Lockdown

Learn how to navigate the Janitor's Haven, access the Medical Section, and disable the lockdown to continue your journey through RetroSpace.

You finally make it to the Medical Section in this part of RetroSpace by grabbing a Human head and using it to bypass the biometric security. It feels great to finally get past those locked doors, but keep a close watch on your health since the enemies start getting a bit trickier here. Don’t worry about the confusing layout, as finding Professor Hasmond’s office is straightforward once you know which keycards to hunt down.

Before you dive in, make sure your inventory has some breathing room because you’ll be picking up several audio logs and useful tools like the Flare Gun. It is worth checking every corner of the lounge area for extra loot, as those small items often provide the exact boost needed for the tougher encounters ahead. Try to stay calm when you encounter the new gas-emitting monsters; keeping your distance is the only way to avoid taking unnecessary damage early on.

Always verify you have the ICU Keycard and the 0451 code in your notes before heading deeper into the ICU area to avoid doubling back. Having the fire extinguisher ready to help with mobility is a solid strategy, so remember that trick you learned from the Janitor’s Haven mural. Once you are properly stocked, you will be set to disable that lockdown and get the ship moving again.

Always keep an eye on the official game channels for updates that might change how these systems behave in later versions.

I found it super helpful to read through these segments in order to keep the story beats clear, so definitely don’t skip the previous parts.

Step through the doorway to enter the Janitor’s Haven and get your bearings.

Objective: Understanding the environment

Start by checking the computer console on the desk before heading left to snag a collectible card. Climb the ladder on the right to reach a makeshift bed where a mural explains that you can use the fire extinguisher to hover or jump. Head into the next room and study the board to learn the mechanics for fixing broken terminals.

Repair the console near the small stairs so it becomes functional again. Use the Janitor Stash on the right to organize your inventory, and grab the audio log from the left side of the room.

Return to the main room to initiate a conversation with MIA via the console. Once the storage box beneath her slides open, collect the Human head inside.

Objective: Accessing the Medical Section

Make your way back to the main ship as requested by Nebula. Head toward the original Stasis Chambers, moving left from the reception area and passing back through the Nexus Gardens and section B to reach the circular area.

Defeat the new enemy type here, but be careful—it releases a dangerous green gas if you get too close. Locate the door labeled Stasis Medical, eliminate the guards inside, and proceed to the reception area to find the Medical Section and its bioscanner.

Interact with the scanner using the Human head you recovered earlier to gain access to the door.

Objective: Locating Professor Hasmond’s Office

After MIA contacts you, drop down on the left side to spot a Heal-O-Dome. You can find a map station by heading down the stairs to your right.

Follow the left path until you reach the emergency room entrance, which leads directly into the Medical Center.

Pick up the head that rolls toward you in this room and use it on the biometric scanner to proceed.

Search the stasis bed for the ICU Keycard before moving forward.

Grab the audio log from the next bed, then return to the reception area to check the console for the 0451 code needed for the ICU.

Head back past the scanner and use your ICU Keycard along with the 0451 code to unlock the ICU door.

Ascend to the upper level of the ICU and navigate the small crawlspace to discover the Flare Gun and another audio log.

Clear the grill to reach the lower level and eliminate the enemy waiting there.

Drop down through the vent into the lounge, defeat the enemies, and thoroughly loot the surrounding rooms. You will eventually reach the locked Preparation room; look for the storage area on the left to find a side door.

Inside this area, check the map terminal and inspect the body to find the 2177 security code hidden in the blood. Collect the audio log before entering Dr. Hasmond’s room on the right.

Access the computer to input 1234 to disable the quarantine, then use 2177 for the security override. Watch the following cutscene to initiate the Hyper Drive jump.

If you get stuck on any of these puzzles, just remember to check your collected logs, as they often contain hints I might have glossed over.

Videogames are my favorite hobby, followed by hitting the gym, playing with my dog, finding cool new sneakers, and reading manga. Keep that order in mind if you want to know what I am up to on the weekends.
