Most mutations align with weather events that occur periodically on the servers, each lasting about five minutes. It’s intriguing to note that while a pet can only have one mutation at a time, it will automatically switch to a better mutation if one with higher Cash and Speed boosts becomes available.

How mutations work in Ride A Pet

Mutations for eggs and pets can occur due to weather events on the server. Currently, these events include lightning storms that impact both eggs and pets, granting them mutations.

Every five minutes, one of the events for Eternal, Void, Rage, Volted, or Shocked could trigger. The corresponding lightning storm gives mutations to eggs and pets on your property, and any pet outside can also gain a mutation if struck by lightning.

The Magma mutation has its own mechanics; you can attempt it once per egg. There’s a 15% chance of successfully giving an egg the Magma mutation when dipped in the volcano, adding 8 extra seconds to the mutation duration. If unsuccessful (85% chance), the egg simply returns to your hand.

After hatching, pets may also randomly receive mutations, with the Rainbow mutation being the rarest and most sought after.
