You determine which of the SILENT HILL: Townfall endings you receive by managing a hidden point system throughout your playthrough. Everything from your Discoveries and combat performance to puzzle accuracy and even survival count toward your final tally.
It is easy to let your score slip if you are not careful about where you are spending your focus. Players often waste potential points by ignoring clues or rushing through segments, not realizing that every interaction ripples into the finale.
Before you commit to a run, try to keep a mental note of your Discoveries count and be conservative with your resources. You do not need to be perfect, but keeping track of these variables is the only way to steer the story toward your preferred conclusion.
You can unlock three distinct endings in this title: Justice, Forever, and Abandoned.
This breakdown covers exactly how to influence your final score to reach every conclusion.
How the Point System Works
Keep a sharp eye out for documents and clues while exploring environments. These items act as your primary source of positive points.
Every Discovery you log adds +1 point to your total calculation.
Watch out, though, because certain mistakes will actively drain your progress.
Use this reference to track how specific actions shift your standing:
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| 1 Discovery | +1 |
| 1 Simon kill | -2 |
| 1 Zoe puzzle mistake | -3 |
| Death and revive with IV | -4 |
Only kills performed by Simon impact your ending. Any enemies taken down by Richard or Zoe are ignored by the calculation.
While the summary screen tracks the total kill count for the whole crew, only Simon‘s specific actions weight the final tally.
Forced Simon Kills
It is impossible to avoid combat entirely, as you will face at least 7 forced Simon kills during a standard run.
These mandatory encounters consist of five crawling enemies found in the Part 6 tunnels, one additional crawling enemy encountered after you secure the JOE key, and the The Weight final boss.
- 5 crawling enemies in the tunnels during Part 6.
- 1 crawling enemy after getting the “JOE” key in Part 6.
- The Weight final boss.
These seven required kills effectively lock you into a -14 point penalty from the start.
Assuming you stay perfect otherwise, your final grade is simply your total Discoveries minus that baseline penalty.
Justice Ending
Aim for a final score of 20 points or more to trigger the Justice ending.
Because you start at a 14-point deficit from forced encounters, you need at least 34 Discoveries to cross that threshold.
Securing 85 Discoveries is the safe bet if you want to guarantee this outcome.
Forever Ending
The Forever ending requires a final score sitting between 1 and 19 points.
If you play through with no optional penalties, you are looking at a range of 14 to 33 Discoveries.
Note that 14 Discoveries nets you exactly 0 points, putting you just shy of this goal, whereas 15 gives you the minimum single point needed.
As long as your discovery count falls between 15 and 33, you are firmly in the Forever territory.
Abandoned Ending
Drop your score to 0 or lower to see the Abandoned ending.
With only the standard seven kills, hitting exactly 14 Discoveries puts you right at zero.
You can force this outcome more easily by intentionally failing Zoe puzzle mistakes or reviving via the IV after taking a death.
Don’t be afraid to take extra combat risks if you have higher discovery counts; additional Simon kills will pull your score back down.
Quick Ending Breakdown
If you stick to the baseline of seven forced kills and avoid extra penalties, use this as your roadmap:
14 Discoveries or fewer: Abandoned. 15–33 Discoveries: Forever. 34+ Discoveries: Justice.
Your total score is the only thing the game cares about, so feel free to experiment with those penalties if you are stuck on a specific path.
