Slayers 2 Final Selection Guide – Become a Slayer

Learn exactly how to pass the challenging Final Selection in Slayers 2 and earn your official Slayer title, uniform, and companion.

Earning your rank as a Slayer in Slayers 2 requires surviving the intense eight-part Final Selection event. You will need to balance combat, precise movement, and endurance to clear these trials and finally receive your uniform and Kasugai Crow.

The biggest hurdle players usually face is underestimating the difficulty of the parkour or the Hand Demon boss fight itself. It is a grueling gauntlet that punishes sloppy play, so taking your time during the platforming sections is just as important as your sword skills.

Before you commit to the event, make sure you are at least Level 45 and have secured a Horse for faster traversal. Trying to sprint across the map on foot during the timed challenges is a quick way to run out of time and fail your attempt.

One critical detail you must not overlook is that you cannot initiate this trial if you have already chosen the Demon path. These two factions are mutually exclusive, so you have to be fully committed to the Slayer route from the start. Remember that the Final Selection only opens its doors every two hours, so keep an eye on your clock before heading to the start area.

Follow these steps to navigate through the eight essential quests of the Final Selection.

All Final Selection quests in Slayers 2

Find fruits for Rem

Slayers 2 Rem quest character location with fruits scattered around nearby

Your first task comes from Rem, who needs an Apple, a Banana, and Grapes. Everything you need is tucked away close to her location, so there is no need to wander far.

  • Grape: Check directly behind the large tree where Rem stands.
  • Apple: Look a short distance to the right of her position.
  • Banana: Head to her left and travel slightly further out.

Once you have all three pieces of fruit in your inventory, bring them back to Rem to check this task off your list.

Defeat five Lesser Demons for Vael

Speak with Vael to start the hunt for five Lesser Demons. These mobs spawn in the immediate vicinity and shouldn’t be much of a threat if you are already at Level 45 with decent gear.

Find Klien’s lost Nichirin Katana

Klien is missing his Nichirin Katana, and you need to find it to progress. Look to the right of where he is facing and search near the base of a nearby tree to find the blade waiting for you.

Buy bandages and treat Klien

After returning the sword, Klien needs medical help, so follow your quest marker to Rika to purchase bandages for 25 Wen. I strongly suggest buying extras here; you will definitely want them for the Hand Demon boss fight later.

After buying the supplies, interact with Klien to trigger the bandaging minigame. Just follow the onscreen prompts carefully to finish the treatment successfully.

Retrieve the Submerged Key for Mizunoto

Mizunoto has a key waiting for you inside a pond. Swim down to find the entrance to an underwater cave, where you must take down the Lost Slayer miniboss to claim the Submerged Key.

Complete the Dungeon

Slayers 2 difficult parkour obstacle course with spikes and gaps

This is arguably the most frustrating part of the trials, as the dungeon mixes strict parkour with tight time constraints. You only have four lives to clear three separate parkour runs, so focus on your jumps rather than speed.

Keep an eye out for the gaps and spikes that litter the path. One slip-up is all it takes to lose a life, and you don’t have many to spare.

Complete the Mountain Survival challenge and rescue civilians

Speak with Lavato to trigger a foggy mountain race where you must touch four blue-flag checkpoints before time runs out. Since visibility is terrible, keep your eyes on the objective markers rather than the map itself.

Afterward, Levi tasks you with clearing the Demon’s Guardian Zone and rescuing three civilians. You have to escort the civilians back one at a time, so expect to run that path a few times.

This is exactly why I tell everyone to get a Horse before starting the selection. It makes navigating this mountain section infinitely faster and less stressful.

Defeat the Hand Demon Boss

The Hand Demon is the final gatekeeper for your Slayer status. Note that the boss scales in difficulty with more players, so don’t assume a larger group makes this automatically easier.

The golden rule here is that the Hand Demon is invulnerable as long as its minions are alive. Focus entirely on clearing those smaller enemies first before you try to chip away at the boss’s health pool.

  • Clear minions first: Never waste your ultimate abilities on the boss while his summon waves are active.
  • Counter-attack: Only target the boss once the area is clear of his minions.
  • Stay mobile: Constant movement is the only way to avoid being cornered.
  • Heal often: Use those extra bandages you bought earlier the second your health bar looks shaky.

Keep cycling through these phases until the Hand Demon falls. This cycle of clearing and striking is the most consistent way to walk away as a winner.

Victory rewards you with the Slayer title, your official Slayer uniform, and your own Kasugai Crow. You will also be officially inducted as a Mizunoto rank member of the Corps.

If you get lucky during the fight, you might also grab the Healing Gem Necklace or the Black Kumo Slayer’s Uniform. Once you are officially a Slayer, the rest of the game opens up for you to take on much tougher challenges.
