Soul Land New World Soul Card Guide – R, SR, SSR, and UR

Soul Cards are one of the main systems you’ll want to pay attention to in Soul Land: New World, especially if you’re trying to increase your power rating and make your characters stronger. The system can look a little confusing at first because Soul Cards have different qualities, attributes, resonance effects, and eventually their own potential skills.

There are also several ways to collect Soul Cards outside of Soul Card Summoning, so you don’t necessarily have to rely on summons alone. Soul Land Celebrity, Team Trials, and Heart Shadow Trials can also provide plenty of Soul Cards as you progress.

In this guide, we’ll go over how Soul Cards work, what their attributes do, how Wheel of Bond resonance works, and what you need to know about unlocking Potential on your strongest cards.

Soul Land New World Soul Card Guide

Soul Card quality is divided into R, SR, SSR, and UR. Cards can be “upgraded” from R to UR by consuming specific Soul Cards, giving you a way to develop cards further as you collect duplicates and materials.

Each Soul Card provides three types of attributes:

  • Base Attributes: Fixed attributes unique to each Soul Card.
  • Bond Attributes: Unlocked by completing bond missions specific to each Soul Card.
  • Extra Attributes: These can be refined by consuming Life Essence.

The Extra Attributes are particularly useful when you’re trying to optimize a card for a specific character or role. If you roll an attribute you want to keep, you can lock it before refining again. Keep in mind that locking an attribute means further refinement will consume additional Life Essence.

For damage-dealing roles, prioritize Soul Cards with Attack, Critical Rate, and Critical Damage attributes. These stats are generally more useful for characters whose main job is dealing damage.

For non-damage roles, focus on defensive and survivability stats such as HP, Defense, Constitution, or Endurance.

Resonance

On the first day of gameplay, two Soul Card Wheel of Bond systems, Friendship and Growth, will be unlocked. As you progress through the game, additional Wheels of Bond will become available.

Tap on a Wheel of Bond to view its resonance effects. Soul Card attributes are categorized into Attack, Agility, Control, Support, and Defense branches. Equipping Soul Cards that match the Wheel of Bond’s attribute requirements will activate its resonance effects.

There are a few important things to remember when building your resonance setup.

Once a Soul Card evolves to UR, it can adapt to all attribute types. This makes UR cards especially valuable when you’re trying to meet the requirements of different Wheels of Bond.

Equipping higher-quality Soul Cards will also unlock higher resonance levels. However, the resonance level is determined by the lowest-quality Soul Card currently slotted into the Wheel of Bond.

For example, if most of your cards are high quality but one slot contains a lower-quality card, that weaker card can hold back the resonance level of the entire setup.

Another restriction is that only one card of the same name can be equipped in a single Wheel of Bond. However, multiple cards of the same name can be equipped across different Wheels of Bond.

Each Wheel of Bond provides different resonance attributes depending on the Soul Cards equipped. Because of this, you can adjust your Soul Card setup to optimize resonance effects around your preferred strategy instead of simply equipping whichever cards have the highest individual stats.

Friendship and Growth

Potential

When a Soul Card is advanced to UR and enhanced to level 20, its Potential effect will be unlocked.

Each Soul Card has a unique potential effect. Depending on the card, this can either provide additional attributes or grant an extra passive skill.

Soul Land New World Potentia

This is one of the reasons why certain Soul Cards can become much more valuable in the late game. A card isn’t only about its basic stats; its Potential can also give your character an additional effect that fits a particular build.

Equipping identical UR Soul Cards allows higher levels of Potential effects to be unlocked, with Potential skills having a maximum upgrade of level 5.

Because of this, it’s worth paying attention to which Soul Cards you’re investing in rather than spreading your resources across every card you obtain. Soul Masters can choose specific Soul Cards to develop based on their needs and work toward the Potential effects that best fit their characters and playstyle.

That concludes the introduction to Soul Cards and the main systems connected to them. As you progress, use the information above to decide which cards are worth upgrading, which attributes fit your role, and which Wheels of Bond provide the best resonance for your setup.

With the right combination of Soul Cards, attributes, resonance, and Potential effects, you can steadily push your power higher and build a setup that fits the way you play Soul Land: New World.
