Yu Tianxin is one of the bosses you’ll have to deal with in Soul Land: New World, and this fight is all about positioning, timing, and keeping the team coordinated. As the Captain of the Thunder Academy Team and a direct disciple of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Tribe, Yu Tianxin relies heavily on powerful lightning attacks that can punish players who stand in the wrong place.
The fight becomes especially dangerous once he enters his empowered state, so knowing what each skill does before entering the boss area can make a big difference. Here’s a breakdown of Yu Tianxin’s attacks and how your team should handle them.
Soul Land New World Yu Tianxin Instance Guide
Yu Tianxin is the Captain of the Thunder Academy Team, with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon as his Martial Soul. As a direct disciple of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Tribe, Yu Tianxin firmly believes that offense is the best defense. Only a thunderous and overwhelming attack can completely obliterate the enemy.
After entering the boss area, a White Tiger class player should initiate the attack on Yu Tianxin to draw his aggro. Once the boss is focused on the tank, everyone else needs to closely monitor Yu Tianxin’s skill usage and react to each mechanic accordingly.
Dragon Soars in the Sky
Dragon Soars in the Sky is a full-area damage skill. When Yu Tianxin uses it, Amber Tower players should activate their damage reduction abilities and promptly heal the team.
This attack can put considerable pressure on the entire party, so the support players need to be ready rather than waiting until everyone’s HP is already low.
Blue Lightning Dragon Claw
Blue Lightning Dragon Claw deals multi-stage area damage to the targeted forward area.
Players need to pay attention to their positioning and dodge accordingly. Avoid standing directly in the affected area, especially if you are not the current aggro target.
Claw Thunder
With Claw Thunder, Yu Tianxin will randomly mark several targets. After a few seconds, the skill deals damage to their locations and leaves behind thunder circles that cause continuous damage.
Marked players should immediately distance themselves from their teammates and dodge when the skill lands. More importantly, make sure the thunder circles are placed away from the main battlefield.
Leaving these circles in the middle of the arena can make the next mechanics much harder for the entire team, so try to place them somewhere that won’t interfere with everyone else’s movement.
Blue Lightning Rush
Blue Lightning Rush targets the furthest player. Yu Tianxin will leap backward to that player’s location and deal area damage.
To counter this mechanic, the White Tiger player should make sure they remain the furthest target. This allows the tank to draw the boss’s focus and activate damage reduction in advance to mitigate the impact.
Keeping the boss pointed toward the intended target is important here. Other players should avoid accidentally becoming the furthest player and pulling the attack away from the tank.
Martial Soul Possession
When Yu Tianxin’s health drops to a certain threshold, he will activate Martial Soul Possession, entering an empowered state.
An unskippable animation will play during this phase. Once the animation ends, all of Yu Tianxin’s skills will be significantly enhanced, so the team needs to be even more careful when dealing with his attacks.
Don’t assume the fight will continue exactly as it did during the first phase. His enhanced skills can punish mistakes much more severely.
Wind and Rain Clouds Cover the Sun
Wind and Rain Clouds Cover the Sun is undoubtedly Yu Tianxin’s most dazzling move. He summons a powerful electromagnetic field and unleashes a thunderstorm across the battlefield.
The visuals may make the attack look extremely dangerous, but it isn’t as difficult to deal with as it appears. Focus on dodging the attacks and stay close to the Amber Pagoda player to receive damage reduction buffs and healing.
As long as the team keeps moving properly and stays within support range, you should be able to get through this mechanic without too much trouble.
Blue Single Lightning
Blue Single Lightning is one of Yu Tianxin’s most dangerous skills, and mishandling it can easily lead to player casualties.
Yu Tianxin will move to the center of the arena and release four rotating lightning bolts in a clockwise pattern. Players must stay in the safe zones while moving and use the “Switch Target” button to attack the lightning orbs in the area.
Breaking all four orbs will neutralize the skill.
The lightning bolts deal massive damage to players they hit and can result in instant death. Do not try to force your way through the lightning. Stay in the safe zones, keep moving with the mechanic, and focus on destroying the orbs.
This is one attack where rushing usually does more harm than good, so take your time and prioritize survival.
Blue Cross Lightning
Blue Cross Lightning deals high damage to the current aggro target and surrounding players.
At the beginning of the encounter, White Tiger players are likely to be instantly killed by this attack. However, there’s no need to panic. Other players should focus on avoiding the area damage, while Liuli Tower players should promptly revive the fallen White Tiger players to keep the team going.
The key here is to avoid turning one player’s death into a full team wipe. Once the attack has been handled, get the tank back up and continue the fight.
This team dungeon will test your positioning and coordination even more than some of the earlier encounters. Yu Tianxin has several attacks that can punish players for standing in the wrong location, while his empowered phase adds another layer of difficulty to the fight.
The safest approach is to keep the White Tiger player responsible for controlling aggro, let support classes focus on damage reduction, healing, and revives, and make sure everyone reacts quickly to the marked and area-based attacks.
Pay special attention to Blue Single Lightning, as failing that mechanic can result in instant deaths. Once everyone understands where they need to stand and when they need to move, the fight becomes much more manageable.
