Get ready for an intense ride in Warhammer 40K: Boltgun 2 as you tackle the Ark of Omen chapter. This part of the game is packed with action and can be overwhelming if you’re not prepared.
After wiping out the heretics on Amara Mors, you’ll plunge straight into the thick of it. The atmosphere shifts quickly, and there’s plenty of carnage to deal with once you step aboard Vashtorr’s Ark. Players can easily find themselves in tricky situations, so keep your wits about you!
Make sure to stock up on ammo and health items before you embark into the Ark of Omen. Scanning your surroundings frequently is key to avoiding ambushes and staying alive during intense fights.
The first stage to tackle is called Crushing Heresy. As you enter the vessel, a warp-corrupted energy signal pops up on your scans, hinting at what’s to come. Navigate carefully through the hallways – enemies are lurking around every corner.
Once you take out the initial foes, drop through a vent to reach a red key gate. Turn right to eliminate the snipers waiting for you, and blast the panel under the bridge to create a path forward.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the primary objectives:
| Objective | Details |
|---|---|
| Crushing Heresy | Navigate to find the red key and activate control panels. |
| Viscous Circles | Fight through and gather keys while avoiding spinning traps. |
| Ascent of Arkifane | Engage Vashtorr and survive multiple enemy waves. |
In Crushing Heresy, after defeating the enemies around the control panels, you’ll need to activate two of them to overload the vessel. Be sure to stay alert for incoming enemies while managing the pumps in the area. Avoid stepping into any red zones – they will lead to instant death. Once you clear the area, get back to the entrance by opening the newly-accessed door with the fourth control panel. Move through the steep corridor, being careful of the pumps as you make your way deeper into the ship.
After navigating through the vessels and avoiding hazards, you’ll arrive at a large area where you’ll face off against a mini-boss: Forgefiend. Be prepared for a tough fight, as you’ll have to not just deal with the Forgefiend but also its many minions. Focus on destroying the shielding beams to weaken it, and keep at it until you topple this enemy.
Once you clear this level, the exit will become accessible. Take your time here; rushing can lead to unnecessary deaths.
Once you’re inside the other part of the vessel, you will find four control panels. First, activate two control panels while fighting the enemies to overload the vessel’s power. Then, use the third control panel to activate all the pumps in the area. As soon as you do that, a purge section will begin. Fight the enemies while avoiding the pump; stay away from the red areas to avoid instant death.
Now, once everything’s clear, use the fourth control panel to open the door, and it will take you back to the other part’s entrance with a newly opened path. Walk through the steep corridor while avoiding the pumps, then jump down on the escalator. As it takes you to the other side, avoid the pumps again and keep moving forward until you enter a massive cog area.
Take your time and jump over them to jump successfully. And eventually, you will reach the room with a purple gate. Unlike other levels, you don’t have to find its key. Suddenly, a purge section will begin, and you will have to fight four big enemies. When it ends, the key will be given to you via an elevator in the room; then use it to open the gate.
Follow the path to the inner area of the ship, and once you’re in a massive room, get ready to fight a mini-boss: Forgefiend. It’s surrounded by numerous enemy forces, and as you lower its health to a certain threshold, three subsequent shielding beams will activate. Shoot the panels below them to destroy the beams, then keep shooting the Forgefiend until the battle ends. With that, the level exit becomes available.
Next up is Viscous Circles. After entering this level, you’ll need to hit a switch to operate the elevator. Patience is vital here, as the elevator takes its sweet time. As soon as you reach the upper level, a wave of enemies pours out, and your immediate goal is to grab the red key from one of them. Afterward, look for the purple key to access the next gate, leading to a spinning platform section. Use the purple key to jump through the rotating doors and battle the enemies lurking in this crazy puzzle.
When you’re deep in the Viscous Circles, expect to encounter a yellow power shield. Shoot the control panel above it to drop your obstacles and press forward. A new enemy type awaits in this area – the Horror enemies – so be ready to fight your way through.
Once you’re done clearing out the enemies, progress will require you to find the yellow key. This will help you unlock the final exit for the level.
Shoot the enemies and explore the area to find the purple key. Use it to open the next gate, then jump onto the platform and use it there. The area will begin to spin, seemingly changing doors using the cogs behind it. Jump into the door again, and fight the enemies again where you fought them while searching for the purple key. Now, there’s a new area here.
Find the yellow power shield blocking the path to the basement, then shoot the panel above it to disable the shield. Go below, and get ready to meet new Horror enemies. Defeat them one by one while moving forward, and use the purple key at the end to rotate the cogs again. Once they’ve stopped, return to the upper level and explore the area to find the yellow key.
Now, take the yellow key to the initial platform and use it to open the level’s exit. However, when you try to leave the level, the ship will start to spin again. You will reach outside the main area, where you have to fight enemies on two platforms: The one you’re standing on that spins continuously, and the other that’s attached to the spinning platform, but it’s static.
After depleting Vashtorr’s health in the first phase, he’ll retreat and bring in reinforcements. Handle the waves of smaller enemies, then brace yourself for the next phase of the fight. You’ll need to dodge his flying electrical attacks and flamethrower, making this a challenging and dynamic encounter.
Keep up your damage output; repeat the process, and you’ll eventually emerge victorious!
After dispatching Vashtorr, don’t relax just yet. Break the control source to complete the level. You’ve made it through the Ark of Omen, facing numerous foes and challenges, so congrats on your journey!
We’re getting closer to the warp-tainted sources in the Ark of Omen. Go through the closed hallway until you reach a massive elevator with a power source in the middle. It’s huge, and this is where the warp-tainted sources’ readings are coming from. To destroy it, use the control panels on both sides, and the elevator will start rising.
Suddenly, a huge ball will appear, and from it, Vashtorr makes his entry. In the first phase, he will throw lightning balls towards you and spread lightning all over the floor. Avoid the balls by moving away, then jump over the lightning on the floor.
Shoot him until his health depletes while avoiding his attacks. However, when you deplete his health, he will retreat, and the entire arena will be engulfed in darkness. Four big enemies will then ambush you. Defeat them, then the darkness will fade away. However, now get ready to be ambushed by a massive wave of enemies. Once you deal with them, Vashtorr will return.
But this time, he will be flying, sending massive electric bolts your way and using his signature flamethrower. Run around the arena as you shoot him, and if you see him crashing down, instantly jump away to avoid significant damage. Repeat the process: Shoot him with everything you have and avoid his attacks. In a few minutes, you will be able to defeat him. However, this is not the end. Vashtorr will retreat, and now a second encounter is impending.
After he retreats, the elevator will reach the top. Break the source of the power source, and the level will come to an end.
With this, our Warhammer 40K: Boltgun 2 Ark of Omen walkthrough comes to an end.
Either listening to music 24/7 or having an existential crisis; no in between.
