To sever the remaining control resonant hedron links, you need to track down the anchors near the Patterned Evac Building and the Patterned Field Office in the Unknown. Breaking both connections will finally clear the path to confront the Hedron itself.
Navigating this surreal dimension can feel incredibly disorienting at first, especially with the floating platforms and gravity wells that love to throw off your footing. I lost way too much health early on simply by misjudging my hover time and falling into the endless void below.
Before you throw yourself into these hectic battles, make sure your status-inflicting weapons are fully upgraded and ready. You will want to rely heavily on Fire or Mold damage here, as the standard attacks barely tickle the bosses you are about to face.
Dylan’s task is clear: disrupt the Pattern completely and sever both of the remaining anchors. Doing so is the only way he can break the connection and finally take the fight directly to the Hedron itself.
Make sure you are fully prepared for a massive spike in aerial combat during this phase. Having your movement abilities mapped to comfortable keys will make dodging mid-air projectiles far easier.
- Make your way back to the Unknown
- Complete Pope’s Research side mission
- Deploy probe relays throughout the area
- Investigate the central Point 0
- Destroy the link near the Patterned Evac Building
- Destroy the final link near the Patterned Field Office
Reach The Unknown
To start, you need to head back up to the eerie depths of the Unknown. Make your way to the main lobby inside the Oldest House, run up the stairs, and step into the elevator.
Inside the elevator, you will notice a newly available floor called Roof Access. Select this destination, and you will step out right at the threshold of the Unknown.
Pope Research Side Quest
Before pushing forward with the main objective, you have to help Pope with some field research. She needs you to deploy several specialized scientific probes at key coordinates across the Unknown.
Look immediately to your left to spot the first research balloon floating nearby. Use Shift to dash over and land directly on top of its surface, then interact with it to drop a container packed with probe relays.
Grab one of the dropped relays, just like you did back in the Sinkhole, and take a quick look at your mini-map. The map will highlight the exact destination where the device needs to go.
Keep an eye out for a prominent red circle painted on the ground. Once you spot it, simply toss or place the relay right in the center of the ring.
Once both probes are securely in place, a shimmering Gravity Well will open up in the sky above. These spatial anomalies serve as your primary method of transportation between the floating sectors.
Activating the well requires you to use Reach to latch onto it and then leap forward. You will plunge into a dramatic, sweeping freefall before landing safely in the central zone, letting you jump to the nearest platforms.
Don’t forget to interact with the local Map Kit immediately upon landing. Revealing the layout of the region makes planning your jumps and finding the next objectives so much easier.
Opening your map displays the intricate web of pathways connecting these floating landmasses. Pay close attention to the small arrows on the screen, which indicate exactly where each well will launch you.
The catch is that these transit wells won’t manifest on their own. You have to locate the research balloons and deploy the corresponding probes in every single sub-sector first.
Failing to set up these relays leaves you completely cut off from the rest of the map, stalling your journey before it even begins.
Set Up Probe Relays In The Unknown
Every major sector of this strange void features its own designated research balloon. Your job is to systematically visit each area and get those devices online.
If the vertical layout starts giving you a headache, trust the directional arrows on your UI. They will clearly illustrate how the zones link together once a new well becomes active.
Since you already took care of the initial probe near the Oldest House roof, you have six more relays left to deploy across the remaining islands.
The gameplay loop remains identical: locate the balloon, pop it to release the crate, and carry the probes to their marked locations. Do this, and the local transit portal will open up.
Investigate Point 0
With all the regional relays online, Pope will drop a final, larger container directly in the center of the zone. This master unit holds four distinct probes that you must carry and place in the cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west.
Once the full array is active, a strange geometric pattern will crystallize in the center of the void. Pope will radio in to explain that she has picked up a powerful resonance signature inside it, which appears to belong to Jesse.
This signal might be the key to freeing Jesse from her current state. For now, head over to the southern island where the Evac Building stands, and leap into the transit well there.
As you near the central anomaly, use Reach to pull yourself onto the platform holding the central structure. Dylan will attempt to cleanse or disrupt it, triggering a chilling, distorted echo of Jesse’s voice echoing through the chamber.
Sever The Link Near The Patterned Evac Building
With Pope’s research wrapped up, you can now traverse the entire network without restriction. Your first destination is the Patterned Evac Building located in the southeastern quadrant of the map.
Navigate your way across the floating debris to find a structure housing a highly distorted, patterned television set. Interact with the screen to enter the anomaly and advance the quest.
Inside, you will find yourself face-to-face with another major threat, the Hedron Factor. As with previous encounters, trying to damage the central core directly is useless; you must focus your fire entirely on its spawns.
These spawned creatures boast heavy resistance to your standard attacks, making status-inflicting elements like Fire or Mold your best options. Swapping to your secondary form is also fantastic for building up their Falter meters quickly.
The Hedron Factor will summon a single powerful adversary at a time. Your main goal is to burst this target down as quickly as humanly possible before you get overwhelmed.
Since you will be executing a lot of aerial strikes, watch your levitation timer closely. Missing a jump and slipping through the wide gaps in the floor will take a massive chunk out of your health pool.
Eventually, the arena will fill with a swarm of smaller minions. You need to wipe them out completely before the main boss gets the chance to manifest another massive threat.
Killing these minor enemies won’t actually drain the main boss’s health bar. Instead, think of them as walking healing kits that drop vital health elements when defeated.
Their attacks consist of slow-moving projectile spreads that are simple to side-step. The encounter is more about patience and positioning than raw difficulty, so keep moving and chip away at them.
Once the boss’s HP bar is completely empty, move in close and trigger your Execution attack to permanently sever this connection to the Hedron.
Sever The Link Near The Patterned Field Office
To reach your next target, the Patterned Field Office, you will need to travel far to the north. It requires a lengthy scenic route, so utilize the local gravity portals to navigate across the gaps.
Just like the previous step, locate the patterned television set in this area and interact with it to enter the next arena. Here, you will face the Hedron Proxy, an intimidating entity composed of several fused heavy Hedron units.
The boss will detach and deploy these heavy enemies to assault you in random waves. Focus on taking them down one by one, as the main core remains completely immune to damage while its defenders stand.
As the battle reaches its midpoint, the boss will begin summoning small support minions. Use this opportunity to defeat them and harvest the health pickups they drop to keep your vitals topped off.
Once you deplete the overall health bar, dash forward to deliver the final strike and execute your Execution ability. With this final anchor shattered, the Hedron is completely isolated, clearing the way for the final confrontation.
Remember to keep your distance during the transition phases of both fights to avoid getting caught in any sudden area-of-effect explosions.
Make sure to spend any accumulated points on upgrading your health recovery speed before heading to the next area.
Taking the time to plan your jumps carefully and utilizing status effects like Fire will make these tricky floating encounters significantly easier to handle.
